Chapter Two: We Were Different

And we were different, you and I…
We looked upon the same world
With dissimilar eyes.

For I loved the arts, and the way of the world,
And you were so determined to change it.

I was a dreamer,
Looking reverently
At all the possibilities.

And you were a realist,
Nodding firmly
At the probabilities.

And yet, despite the fact,
That our minds were far apart,
Our hearts, upon that first encounter,
Began to work as one.
