I'm Sorry

Every day thousands of people die,
They dissapear into the ether that
lies beyond.

When some lie there, on the edge, people pray
that they will die soon for financial safety.

Some are mourned, others just as forgotten
as they were before. Others get quiet
burials, only a close few attend.

Some leave a mark, others don't. Some are left
to die, others die with those they love close
at hand, not quite ready to say goodbye.

Girl, I just want you to know that what I said
was wrong, uncalled for. If tommorow I
were to hear that you were struck deathly ill,

I would be by your side in but the time
it takes my heart to beat. I would pray for
you, I would sell my soul to the devil

just for a few more precious moments by
your side. And when it's all said and done I
will be one of many ready to grieve.

Forget it,
The shit and the terrible cruelty of
life, shun it and keep it away from you.

And remember, we all really would care.

(This poem is just one of many of my works that I've found lying around that I'm throwing up here. I wrote it as an apology for some shit things that I said to a girl once, as if that wasn't obvious. It's not the best, but I felt like throwing it out there. I've never really been too good at poetry...)
