It was a cold August morning, wind howling through the streets of London as people buzzed around the city, people chattering and laughing to one another as they walked into shops they adore, a young girl sat outside a coffee shop typing away at her laptop before taking a sip from her hot beverage.
She glanced around her to see all the surroundings of London before looking down once more at the screen in front of her. Sighing she leaned back in her chair, rubbing her temples before leaning forward and continuing to type furiously.
She stopped to pick up her beverage and took a deep sip, shivering at the touch of the coldness it had become in the short period of time; she cursed herself before closing her laptop and standing up. Her chair screeched on the pavement as she felt somebody bump into the metal chair before swearing.
She turned around her blonde hair covering to face, as her jaw dropped, “I am so sorry”
“It’s okay, you didn’t realise I was behind you” His blue, aquamarine eyes twinkling.
“I’ll buy you another coffee” She replied opening her bag and grabbing her star purse out, “My treat?”
He shrugged and smiled, “You twisted my arm, Tim will go mad if I don’t bring his coffee back. If you don’t mind?”
She smiled showing off her white pearly teeth, “its only coffee”
"I’m Matthew” He replied wiping his hands on his three quarters before holding his right hand out for her to shake, juggling the wet paper tray in his left.
“Emma” She replied smiling, their gaze stayed on each other for what seemed like eternity before looking down at their feet. Emma grabbed her laptop and looked back at Matthew smiling.
They walked back into the coffee shop and waited in line.
“Hi what can I get you?” The assistant asked as Emma looked down to see how many coffees Matthew was carrying.
“Can I have five coffees please” She replied smiling, including herself.
The pair stayed quiet for a minute before Matthew moved over to the bin and emptied the paper tray out as the young waitress handed Emma her coffees.
“Thank you” Emma and Matthew said in unison as Emma handed Matthew the tray.
“I better go, its nice meeting you” Emma smiled as a young blonde girl walked into the coffee shop smiling at Matthew. “You ready?” Charity asked as Emma nodded. “Yeah” Emmareplied walking over to Shana before turning back to Matthew, “Here’s my number, call me”
Matthew smiled feeling himself turn red, “Thanks”
“Bye” Emma replied smiling as Matthew blushed. Matthew gulped watching her walk out of the shop, “Bye” he whispered.
