What will the end of the world be like
What will the end of the world be like? Where will I be when it all comes crashing down? Will the world go out with a climax and a bang or will it silently end with a surprise element? Who will go first? Will we all go at once? Why would the world end? Would a god or holy entity end it? Is there something written in a prophecy that will actually come true about the worlds final and finest hours? Or will we, the humans, and the dominant species on this giant floating rock be the cause of our demise, summing up the greatest definition of irony?
Most people think the biggest question is, when. When will the world face its final day? To me, though, the apocalyptic nightmares I have ask the question, where. Where will I be when the world ends, and what will I be doing? Where will anybody be? Celebrities, the poor, the rich, the young, the old, the quiet, and the outgoing, where will they all be? Who will they be with? What will be their last thought? What will be the last thought that anybody on this planet ever has?
One thing is for sure, when the world ends, it is ending for everybody. Nobody is immune to the apocalypse. No matter how powerful you are and how much you can buy, you are not immune to the end. When the light finally blows out, it will end this world for all of us.
Another question that would cross a mind curious about the finish of this miniscule piece of rock in the vast universe is where does it all go? When every soul on Earth blinks out all at once, where will it all go? Every religion believes that they have the definite answer to this question, but here’s the thing, not every religion can be right? Can it? Will those who have committed crimes against the writings of the bible get damned? Is there even an afterwards? Or when we die does that just mean it’s time for the universe to build a new chapter and a new dominant species? A species that will be smart enough to take care of the precious land they call a home.
Humans have built so much. We have come so far. From the dawn of our existence, we have made it our duty to grow and become stronger and more civilized and separate us from the other creatures wandering this unpredictable planet. We are at the point of time where a new invention or a groundbreaking piece of technology is instantly forgotten in a week when the next chapter or next level in that technology is produced. Rapidly we are growing in that sense. We went from rocks, wooden wheels, and caves, to skyscrapers, cars, and cell phones.
Although we have built so much, we have killed just an equal amount. We have become so dependant, and continually more dependant on the Earth’s limited energy that maybe it is time for the world to end, to refresh, and start anew.
There is one thing that hasn’t changed in the entire history of mankind, and that my friends, is war. We have not yet grown apart from that. We may say that we have become more sophisticated, and smarter, and just all around better, but can we say that? Think about it for a moment. Since the dawn of man, the only way that any dispute between two peoples is violence, and the killing of human beings. The idea of people killing people, and the only legal murder is war. We are no better than a bunch of dumb unsophisticated cavemen in the sense we have no way of achieving peace or agreements without forcing peace and agreements by killing the people who don’t agree with you. Declared war is the only time that a person can legally kill a fellow human being, a fellow soul, who also has hopes and dreams, and a family just like you. Let’s say there is a man who absolutely hates his neighbors, especially the father of the house next door. So this man goes over to the house next door, shoots the father and leaves, killing him in cold blood. This man goes straight to prison or something worse. Now let’s look at declared war. You are fighting for your country and to defend yourself and the name of the land you’re fighting for, you kill a father of three, a man who had hopes and dreams, a man, who like yourself, really believed he was doing the right thing. How can a species like us consider us, sophisticated when violence is our answer to dispute? We haven’t mature enough to be able to settle such disputes otherwise.
In conclusion, the end of the world will come one day. The questions are when will it happen? Where will you be when the world finally stops spinning? What will be going through your mind on those last moments? Who will you be with? Will you be able to patch things up with your father before the world ends? Will your brother return from Iraq in time for you to say goodbye to him? Will human beings have time to grow up before the end? Or will the Earth end during the chaos and violence that we live in today?
