The Cassandra Chronicles

Cassandra was sick of it, absolutely sick. Six hundred and forty years, she was six hundred and forty years old and still her father treated her like a child. She could never forgive him, nor look at him the same after the atrocity he committed. It wouldn't have hurt her so much if he would have given her a reason, then maybe could she have forgave him, but no reason. Just a 'it had to be done.' That was it. As if that was a sutible reason for killing her mother.

Cassandra wandered through the halls of Hell, as she did so many nights. These were the nights she couldn't sleep, or that she just didnt want to. She loved it a night, the screams of torture in the day had died down and it was so quiet. Her feet took the familiar path down to Level Three, she went down to the observation bay, there was a waterfall there that was perfectly tranquil; weird as it was. She leaned against the stone ledge and looked down into Level Three. The electric green glow from the water made everything, even the rocks, appear to be alive.

“Can't sleep Cass?” A deep malevolent voice said from right behind her left shoulder, right by her ear.

“Mammon, why are you here?” Cassandra asked with a soft lilting sigh.

“Are your dreams keeping you up, dear sister?” His deep voice rang in her ears as he tucked a piece of fluid silver hair behind her ear.

Cassandra turned around to face Mammon, they were only half-brother and sister, but they didn't even act like it. There was more tension there, not sibling in nature, but sexual.

“Why would you like to know my dear brother? There's nothing you can do to quell it, to give me sleep.” Cassandra purred, her thick voice pitched low to increase sexuality, her liquid green eyes bored into his.

“Can I not be concerned for you my younger, though highly experienced, sister?” He asked cunningly, his deep purple eyes piercing her gaze.

“Oh you can, you just aren't.” She said as she smiled and tilted her head to the side.

“Ha ha, your very funny. But about that quelling,” He said as he pulled her flush against him. “your just so tense, release some of that tension, maybe you could get some sleep.” He said as his clawed hand trailed down the ivory skin of her back at the spine, making her shiver in anticipation.

“Mmm...” She drawled out sensuously. “There's the brother I know and positively love.”

“If you love that, there's plenty more where that came from.” He laughed as his lips inched closer to hers.

Suddenly a messenger demon walked in and interrupted them.

“Master Mammon, Mistress Cassandra.” The demon said as he bowed reverently.

“Goddammit!” Cassandra cursed as her clawed hand dug into Mammon's neck, where her hands rested.

“Speak Raigeki.” Mammon said and chuckled deeply at the irony in Cassandra's curse.

“Master and Mistress, you father, The Lord Devil himself, wants to see the both of you in his chambers.” Raigeki said and when Mammon nodded he bowed again and backed out.

“Damn, I was hoping that new whore would keep him busy all night.” Cassandra complained as she back away from him.

“Now why do I have a feeling that you hired her?” He chuckled.

“Contrary to popular belief, I don't want to replace my mother in his bed.” She said seriously as she waved her hand and a tight black leather form fitting dress, full length, and diamond studded heels appeared on her body.

“Now you don't honestly believe that.” He said cockily, not as a question, but as a statement.

“He's your father too, why don't you tell me?” She fired right back, if it wasn't the sexuality, it was this; the both of them fighting.

“Alright, it's possible, he would have extremely good taste.” Mammon started, looking her up and down. “But that dress is not going to help things any. Because I'm about to rip this thing off of you and I've got more control than him.”

“Good point.” She said. “Can't do anything about it now. We better get going before he gets pissed, and we don't want that.” She smiled as they continued on, down to their father's chambers. We're certainly no regular brother and sister. Cassandra's thoughts drifted to as they came in front of the door to their father's chambers, large and foreboding it was.

Cassandra and Mammon walked into the Lord Devil's chambers and he was just finishing up the whore. Her screams of completion echoed all around the room.

“Okay, no matter how many times I see this, I never get used to it.” Cassandra whispered to Mammon as the girl passed out and the Devil grabbed his robe beside his bed; after about a century he'd finally given in and started wearing them when Cassandra was in the room.

“Children, Report!” His cold malicious voice echoed.

“Tonight I corrupted three souls, tortured ten of the damned, and committed the sins of Lust, Anger, and Greed.” Cassandra automatically intoned.

“I corrupted three souls, tortured eleven of the damned, and committed the sins of Lust, Anger, Greed, and Envy.” Mammon also intoned.

“Good Children.” The Lord Devil applauded. “Cassandra, you've almost caught up to Mammon, well done.”

“Thank you my liege.”

“Now for your tests.” He said wickedly as Mammon stepped forwards. “Very good, my son.”

Cassandra held her breath in anticipation, she had always hated this part. Mammon got the physical aspects and she got the emotion aspects, although she was quite certain she'd rather get beat. Lucifer pulled a whip back and slashed at Mammon's back, creating deep lacerations to which Cassandra hissed and Mammon didn't even flinch. Ten more slashes and not a move from Mammon, and finally the Lord Devil let him go. His skin had already started to heal when he arrived by Cassandra.

“Just remember to breathe through it. Wait for your moment to attack. You'll get in real trouble if you attack too soon today, I don't think he'll hold back this time.” He whispered to her before Lucifer started to speak.

“Well done my son.” Lucifer intoned happily and then turned his hungry gaze on Cassandra. “Come daughter, your turn.” and Cassandra really really hated that look in his eyes.

Cassandra gave Mammon one final look and walked over in front of the Lord Devil. He was behind her almost instantly and his claws ran along her curves. She was repulsed by the thought of him touching her, but she showed no outward sign.

Good girl, just bide your time, wait. Mammon thought to himself. He did not envy his sister, it took more control than he possessed to resist retaliating as she was. He felt sorry for her.

But the Lord Devil's filthy claws on her body nor the sympathy in Mammon's eyes wasn't the worst thing. Not to Cassandra, not by a long shot. It was when her father began to whisper in her ear, playing on her insecurities.

“I could do anything to you right now. And you'd be absolutely powerless to stop me. Mammon would have to watch me violate you.” He accentuated the point by grabbing her ass, she could feel his erection grinding into her back. Just a bit longer, wait until he's completely distracted, 'till he drops his guard. She told herself and the next thing he did, or said rather, just about snapped her control. “Or I could kill you. Just like your mother.” And when she does nothing but tense up her purrs, “Good Girl”

In that moment his guard dropped and she grabbed his hands, she threw her head back, stunning him momentarily. She then turns around and pressed her steel heel into his groin. The fire blazed in her eyes as she punched him into the wall. His initial surprise at her attack faded and he charged her, to which she put up a forcefield and held him in it. A clear killing rage present in her eyes.

“Enough!!” His voice echoed and with a final hatred filled glare, she released him. A demon had came in during the fight though, and upon seeing her attack the Lord Devil, he began to attack her. She turned around in the second he started his attack, she turned her gaze onto the demon, and upon doing so he combusted into flames. “Perfect, absolutely perfect.” The Lord Devil cooed.

“Bite. Me.” Cassandra threw over her shoulder as she walked out without being given permission and with a nod from the Lord Devil, Mammon followed.

“Cassandra? What in the hell was that?”

“What do you mean?” She asked as she continued her fast walk away from the chambers.

“I mean the way you attacked him, the look in your eyes, I could've swore you wanted to kill him.” Mammon said as he hurried to follow her, he was having the slightest of difficulties keeping up with her fast pace.

“I did, I was going to, the bastard would've deserved it.” Cassandra's cold voice rang out as she opened the door to Level Three and walked down, Mammon hot on her heels.

“What do you mean? What did he say to you?” Mammon asked, he wasn't able to hear his father's voice, but by gauging her reactions, he could tell it was something that severely upset her.

“I mean that with every single fiber of my very being I wanted to cause him pain and destroy him.” Cassandra said, turning her now cold silver eyes on him. “He talked about my mother, that he could kill me just like her.” Cassandra kindly left out the part that included Mammon.

“You do know that you could never really kill him, he'd just come back. And you know he was just saying what he was saying to get under your skin, trick you into attacking him prematurely, which you didn't do, you surprised the hell out of him when you attacked the way you did.”

“I'm glad I did, but I honestly believe that he meant every single word that he said.” Cassandra said as she turned away from him and continued walking along the Third Level. She passed the place where he had first found her earlier that evening and kept walking, up to the door to the Second Level; which she opened and went through.

Mammon stopped her by grabbing her arm, there was more to this than she was letting on.

“What else?”

“What?”

“What else did he say, to upset you so?”

“Nothing.” Cassandra said as she shook him off, returning to walking to wherever she was going.

“Cassandra.” His voice held a chilling finality to it, she knew that she had to answer the question or she'd be slammed into the wall, and not in the good way.

“He talked about violating me in front of you okay? That's it, I said it, that's what he said. And yeah it upset me, I think he knows Mammon.” She turned around, her slightly less silver, more grey, eyes glassy.

“He doesn't know. And he won't find out, trust me.” Mammon said with a note of finality in his voice once again. His hand went to her cheek, he knew what this was now, the frantic nature that had overtaken her, she was scared; scared of being found out and punished for it. Because that was the last thing she need or he wanted for her. “I promise he won't find out, we've left no sign of it and there's no reason for him to be suspicious. Besides, he'd most likely be overjoyed at the fact of us hooking up, then he'd have the underworld all set up the way he wanted.”

“No, but that's what you don't get Mammon. He wouldn't see it that way, he positively wouldn't.” She said as she tried to emphasize her point. “He'd see me as my mother again, he would. I'm telling you this, my mother was sent down to kill you, you know. And I truly believe that's what he would think of me. That I was trying to kill you.” She said as she grabbed his hand and squeezed it, letting him know just how scared she really was of their father.

“That's nonsense, complete and utter nonsense. He would not think that of you, and if he ever tried to lay a hand on you, I'd personally take him out.” Mammon said as he tried to comfort her fears.

“Mammon, both I and you know that you aren't that strong, no one is that strong, no one can stand against him, its the way that it's always been and always will be.” Cassandra's voice had a sharp edge to it and it cut through Mammon as her fear became so blatantly readable.

“Come on Cassandra, you need to just calm down.”

“Calm down? There ain't no calmin' down, we're doomed.” Cassandra raged as she walked away from him double-quick.

“Cass.” Mammon stopped her by placing a hand on her arm. “You need sleep, you haven't slept in days, probably weeks, you know you need it.”

“I don't.”

“You do. Now go and sleep, we'll talk of this later.” Mammon said as he walked away from her, leaving her standing in front of her blood red bedroom door.
