Fascism(fas - cism)
–noun
a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.
People today are saying that conservative people such as Glenn Beck, are fascist. However, this is not the case, as he clearly states that he is AGAINST big government, and AGAINST suppressing opposition.
But the article is not about Glenn Beck. Its about the rampant misuse of the word Fascist. People claim that all sorts of people are Fascist, and that we are living under a fascist government today. To some extent, this is true, but not how people think.
Al Gore had a movie come out a year or so ago, about Global Warming. Many many many reputable scientists have discredited this movie, but have been called names such as “fascist” and “retard”. I myself have been called horrible things due to my opinions about man made global warming. Whats ironic, is that these scientists have been silenced, and the mention of their names immediately discredits your entire argument. Isn't that, by definition, fascism?
I have even been called an oil company CEO by people who obviously have no idea what they are talking about. First of all, if I were the CEO of an oil company, I would be swimming in money. I wouldn't waste my time arguing with kids. Secondly, its just ridiculous. But seriously, no matter what source I list in an argument, somebody always says that they work for oil companies. Seriously. When talking about the water level rising due to global warming, I used the UN(United Nations, if you didn't know) as a source, because they said that Al Gores 20 foot prediction what an over exaggeration, and that it would be more like 20 INCHES, someone, I'm not sure who, said that they were under Exxon's thumb.
The Heartland Institute, a nonprofit think tank, has this about global warming on there website,
Global warming is a prime example of the alarmism that characterizes much of the environmental movement. Media coverage of the topic is heavily slanted toward alarmism because “bad news sells,” making it difficult for climate realists to get a fair hearing. Al Gore’s recent movie, “An Inconvenient Truth,” has been severely critiqued by many experts, yet it is being shown in high schools across the country as an educational documentary.
Climate science reveals that the world has warmed about 1 degree C during the past century, with half of that warming occurring before human emissions could have been responsible. Even if human activity is responsible for 100 percent of the warming since 1940, it is only about 0.5 degrees C., an amount so small it is within the error range of the instruments used to measure global temperatures.
There is no consensus about the causes, effects, or future rate of global warming. Most climate scientists doubt the reliability of computer models and the accuracy of land-based temperature records Reports by the IPCC are unreliable due to political editing and rewriting of the reports’ conclusions. Some of the key evidence cited in past IPCC reports has been shown to be fraudulent.
There is also disagreement over what to do about global warming. Economists believe the Kyoto Protocol, the treaty intended to reduce human greenhouse gas emissions, would cost its participants trillions of dollars while having little or not effect on the global climate. Meanwhile, the federal and state governments debate and pass legislation that will be similarly futile.
Many experts call for adaptation--making small changes to infrastructure and lifestyles to accommodate a slightly warmer world--rather than spend hundreds of billions of dollars trying to reduce emissions. Carbon sequestration could also play a role in responding to climate change.
All of the supposed catastrophic effects of global warming have been rebutted by scientists, including melting ice, hurricanes, other extreme weather, and extinction of wildlife.
An increasing number of experts believe the recent warming is due to natural cycles driven by variability in solar radiation.
Reliable experts on climate change include Patrick Michaels, S. Fred Singer, and Sallie Baliunas. Non-scientists who have rebutted climate alarmism include novelist Michael Crichton and Sen. James Inhofe.

However General Electric, an energy company that stands to make millions if everyone converts to “green” energy, has been running numerous campaigns to try and convince people to “go green” You all remember Earth Week a few weeks ago right? All those channels changed there logo green, and there was much marching in front of the whitehouse about the Kyoto Protocol. Well, all of those channels that changed their logos are subsidiaries of NBC. And hey, NBC is a subsidiary of guess who? Give up? No guess again.. Yes thats it! General Electric. Do most people know this? I doubt it. You would think people would know it though, NBC controlling most of televisions most popular shows. Anyway, GE owns millions of dollars in now worthless Wind, Solar, and Thermal Energy stock. But since oil, the nectar of the gods in my honest opinion, is so evil, then everyone should switch to those types of clean energy. If that happened, people just one day deciding to switch to those types of energy, the stocks would literally skyrocket, making Jeff Immelt a billionaire. Maybe even richer than Bill Gates.
Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs. Ahhh CFLs.. the average global warming advocates best friend. Really? Even though those things give people epileptic seizures? And they have Mercury in them. I read a story about this poor old woman, who was trying to do her part to help the environment by switching to CFLs. Well in her daughters room of all places, she dropped one and it broke. She had heard they have mercury in them, and decided to call the EPA about it. They said to call the CDC or some other organization like that. They then told he to call back the EPA, and then they told her they would send an expert out there as soon as possible to “examine the damage and get an estimate of how long clean up would take.” Well just getting the “expert” out there costs something along the lines of 300 USD, which back then was a lot more than it is now. (this happened in 2005 or so.) Anyway, the expert came, and after 5 hours said it would be something like a weeks job, and I cant remember the exact cost, but it was in the thousands. Heres an alternate solution. SWEEP IT INTO A TRASH CAN! Dear god people. Are we all so stupid that we dont even know how to clean up a little broken glass without spending 5000 and taking a week to do it? Everyone who cares about the environment should A. use LED Light Bulbs. C Crane makes them, and they cost about 40.00 each, but they last something like 50 times as long as regular light bulbs, and use a fraction of the energy.
And B. be a vegetarian or vegan. Seriously if you eat meat and you're trying to stop global warming, that would be like me preaching peace and love and then going out and killing hippies. The worlds cattle emit more damaging gases in there flatulence than the worlds cars.
Well, thats pretty much all I have to say about that.. To quote Glenn Beck, I would hold down Santa's reindeer while you hold a drill to their heads to get the oil. AMERICA NEEDS TO BE ENERGY INDEPENDANT! SCREW THE CARIBOU! DRILL ALASKA!
