Red Sock

I’ve been wandering
around the house in one red sock.
I took the other one off because it had a hole.
It, the other sock I mean, wasn’t red.
It was tan
with a burgundy stripe around the top.
The red sock is bright red...
crayola red,
with little white and yellow cats on it.
The cats are wearing wizard hats.
I’m stomping on their faces.
They are evil wizard cats.
Stomp. Stomp.

I decided to go on a walk
so I had to put on another sock.
It was tan too,
but it didn’t have a burgundy stripe.
It has a hole in it,
like the other tan sock,
but not in the same place.
All of my socks have holes.
For my birthday.
I want socks.
Just socks.
Lots and lots of colorful socks.
Especially ones with cats on them.
Stomp. Stomp.
