The Pub Of Good Religion

The Pub Of Good Religion

Church bells roar in the valley

But the pub is where we all rally

Religions of the world unite

Relax by the fire tonight

The Christians lounge within their sects

From the Catholic end a pope erects

Says a speech to all good people

We raise our glasses to form a steeple

Islam rules the roost tonight

But they won’t ever start the fight

It’s the idiots at our end

On which it would all depend

The Jewish have had a bad press

But there’s no Shylock here to make a mess

Instead they sing a hymn

To light us all from within

The Scientologists have had their say

Landlord kicks them out and away

The Buddhists haven’t made any uproar

But now Mr Mao’s come through the door

A room filled with the strife of life

The tension cuts like a knife

But there’s no need to worry

And there’s no need to hurry

Tonight God’s being pretty fab

Cause’ He’s buying the beers on the atheists tab!

So sit down my brother

And have you another

The bar’s free tonight

Drink hearty until first light
