Chemical Reaction

A snowflake falls

and lands on the sand.

The girl falls down

and up rises a man.

A car leaves,

but comes back an SUV.

A bush is planted

and arises a tree.

A girl was born,

but no more be she.

She's grown up,

away, and apart

from those once loved.

A snowflake falls

and lands on the sand.

It'll soon be gone,

melted on contact.

They say it's only a phase,

but she knows better.

Ice now melted to water,

the paper's burned to ashes.

Changed for good,

maybe not for the better.

Her eyes stare blank

out into the distance.
