Drifting from where I came

I kept my eyes to the sky.

Staring up, feeling my eyes begin to tremble

Cold…empty…shaking…

Frigid, icy, freezing water carried me

Thoughts of home

Thoughts of life

Flashing, fading, with each passing second

Hope began to fade as well

Closing my eyes

The thin stream of life began to sever

But a warm bind enveloped it

Repaired it, held it, embraced it

And from the frozen water I left

The awakening was divine

Staring at a goddess in draped shadows

With a smile, I was saved.

My heart continued to beat

And my soul continued to live.
