Don’t Ever Listen To A Word The Mirror Says

The doll has been cast aside:

A false idol discarded for a real one,

The magazine Bible in her lap at the time of worship.

She prays before the mirror,

Not in happiness, nor in rage.

The page-nine-goddess seems to be sneering at her.

A mirror surely never lies,

And it tells her that she is inadequate in late night radio voices.

It only speaks the truth,

And she falls asleep to the program.
