Book of Life

The mother combs her daughter’s hair

The father reads to his son

A lonely bible sits on the shelve

Untouched for so very long

God pools out his book of life

He calls to his children

One by one they come

The mother is no longer combing her daughter’s hair

The father is no longer reading to his son

It becomes so very dark

The mother and father cry out to the Lord

“Are we not going to Heaven?”

God looks in his book of life

He searches for their names,

But finds them not

He closes the book and slowly

Starts to fade away

The darkness begins to sorrowned them

“No!” they cried, “take us with you.”

The Lord was gone.

“Why have you forsakan us God?”

In the blackness they cry out.

“I forsake you?

You are the one who has forsaken me.

I have called out to you your whole life to come to me

I gave you a choice to choose, for me to write your name in my book.

Now that time is up,

Your name will never be written in the book of life.

So forever you will be separated from my

Glory, peace, love, light, and my perfect kingdom.

In a forever binding darkness.

I gave you choice to write your names in the book,

But you refused.

I still love you,

You just did not love me.”

God’s last words as his voice faded into an ending whisper
