1

I watched you standing

In front of the crowd.

Telling, speaking, looking calm

Acting cool, like it didn’t phase you

To have camera’s flashing

In your face.

But I know you better.

You were so nervous

It was evident in your voice

How it wavered.

I could see your arm moving

Slightly.

You were tapping the side of your leg

It’s a tick you have.

There was hardly a blink as you scanned

The audience nor did you

let your eyes capture someone elses.
