‘Tony, where are you Tony?’ Richard was calling his friend. He sounded excited.
‘What is it? I am here. For god sake, let me eat,’ Tony, who was busy eating, said.
‘Tony man, you’re always eating and you don’t have anything else to do. Look at this letter,’ Richard said entering the room. He tossed a letter on the table. Tony didn’t even look at the letter. He was busy munching on his roast chicken.
‘Stuff the eating. Read the letter,’ Richard said, taking away the plate from Tony.
‘What are you doing?’ Tony said, with a poignant face.
‘George!’ Richard said aloud.
A six-foot tall man appeared on the door. ‘Yes?’ he asked in a polite voice.
‘Take these plates away,’ Richard said, pointing at the plates on the table.
George was fast. He cleared the table in just one minute. Now, there was only the letter on the table.
‘What is it in the letter so important? I had just started eating when you came in,’ Tony said, wiping his hand with a tissue.
‘We are going to U.K,’ Richard said, waving the letter in front of Tony.
‘United Kingdom. But why?’ Tony asked.
‘Read yourself,’ Richard said, giving him the letter.
Tony grabbed it, opened, and began reading. There was a golden monogram on the corner of the letter. It was beautiful. Tony read it in a few moments.
‘Wow. I didn’t know we had that much importance,’ Tony said, closing the letter. He was slightly smiling.
‘You’re talking about importance. Now look, U.K talked to our country and hired us to work in their country. Isn’t that amazing?’ Richard said.
‘But I was thinking does U.K have shortage of men that they want to hire us?’ Tony asked, thinking.
‘No shortage of men. But they don’t have Tony, Richard and George, do they?’ Richard said, winking and smiling. Tony laughed at this.
‘Anyway, it’s good. We’ll get to see U.K and its holidays anyway. If you ask me, I was getting bored sitting here all day,’ Tony said.
‘So it’s done yeah? We are going. I’ll write the letter back to them telling them we are ready to go,’ Richard said, thrilled. He left the room.
‘George, hey George!’ Tony said, after Richard left.
‘Yes?’ George appeared at once.
‘Where is my food? Man, this hunger is killing me,’ Tony said, rubbing his stomach.
‘Food is finished,’ George said.
‘Finished? What do you mean? Are you planning to murder me? Go get some food from the nearest restaurant,’ Tony said, roaring with anger.
‘Okay,’ George said, turning back.
‘And listen…’ Tony said, stopping him.
‘Yeah?’ George said.
‘Don’t you ever tell me that the food is finished. Just throw that sentence out of your dictionary,’ Tony said very gravely.
‘Yes,’ George said.
‘Now go and get me some food. I can’t bear this hunger anymore,’ Tony said and George disappeared.
‘I don’t know what U.K wants from us,’ he muttered in a low voice as if talking to himself. His eyes were fixed on the door, where George was going to bring the food. He was continuously rubbing his stomach.
Then George entered with big tray of food. Tony plunged on the food and began eating, as if he didn’t saw food for over hundred centuries.
George, standing aside, was looking at Tony eating food with peaceful eyes.

The monster-sized aeroplane was just a few feet away from the runaway. It was going to land on the Heathrow airport. It was a sunny day and a dim rain.
In the first class section, Richard, Tony and George sat. As the plane landed on the runaway, there was a sudden impulsiveness between the passengers. Richard and Tony began to unbuckle their belts as well. When the plane came to halt, there was a haste of passengers. They just wanted to get off the plane. Richard, Tony and George simply stood up and waited on the first class door, looking at all the passengers go. Tony couldn’t bear waiting and he was hungry as well. So, he disappeared in the crowd. Richard followed him and so did George. There was a five-passenger gap between the three of them. They kept going and on the stairs which directed to the airport. They had nice suits on. Well, of course they had to look nice. George was wearing black jeans with a cream t-shirt. He had a briefcase in his hand. There were some important papers and clothes in it. The weather was hot too.
After the stairs they got in the transit bus, which drove them to the airport. In a few moments, they were in the custom and immigration area. It took them half an hour to go through custom. They had not a great deal of stuff with them. But it was busy and it was getting hot as well. After spending half hour with the custom, they were now in the public gallery.
‘I thought there were going to be officers for our welcome. But let alone officers, I can’t even see a janitor,’ Richard said looking around.
‘Stuff the officers, I am very surprised the plane crew’s meal was rubbish. It wasn’t a man’s meal. It was a bird’s meal. And I can’t even see a restaurant here.’ Tony’s hunger was killing him. He was looking around as well.
Then after either of them said anything, a young good-looking girl was walking towards them. She had jeans and a tight shirt on.
‘Are you Tony and Richard?’ she asked looking at them with curious eyes.
‘My name is Richard. This is Tony and that guy over on this side is George,’ Richard answered, introducing them.
‘Very strange. You two are just teenagers,’ she muttered in a low voice.
‘Miss…’ suddenly Tony spoke.
‘My name is Victoria. Mr. Prime Minister sent me for your welcome,’ she said, smiling.
‘Thank you Miss Victoria. Can you tell me where the restaurant in this airport is?’ Tony asked.
‘Restaurant? But why?’ Victoria asked.
‘I am very hungry and when I’m hungry, I don’t care about anything. Not even a beautiful girl like you,’ Tony said. His tone was humourless.
‘Oh sorry. I was busy in talking. Come this way,’ Victoria said, embarrassed. She turned around quickly and began walking. The three of them followed.
Richard was quiet because he knew Tony wouldn’t talk on any subject other than food right now. They followed the girl to the car parking. She stopped in front of a car. A black limo with a golden eagle on its number plate.
‘Please have a seat,’ Victoria said, respectfully.
‘Is there food in the car?’ Tony asked.
‘Oh, looks like you are too much hungry at this moment. No worries. We’ll just be at our destination then you can eat as much as you would like,’ Victoria said.
‘Oh excuse him. He’s always hungry. Just like that. You don’t worry,’ Richard said who was sitting on the passenger seat. Tony and George were on the back seat while Victoria was on the driving seat. The windows were black tinted. The car started and it went on the road like butter on the toast.
‘We’ve heard a lot about your legendary stories. But by seeing you I don’t believe that…’ Victoria spoke, conversationally.
‘We didn’t do any stuff. We had just been creating some trouble here and there. I think you have mistaken,’ Richard said a bit frustrated.
‘Oh sorry. I didn’t mean it that way,’ Victoria said with an apology.
‘I’m right. We are here for holidays. The heroic stuff. That just happens by itself. For example take us in America. We were just walking on the road. A car went pass us with some great speed. CIA was after them. I noted down the car’s number plate and gave it to CIA. They were happy and asked us to join. They said they needed boys like us. We had done many more things for CIA then they said that we have that thing to be a secret agent. But on the other side we had college. Then your letter came through and CIA gave us permission to go. They have trust in us. We hope we do better. We still don’t know what we are doing?’ Richard said.
Victoria smiled. ‘You’ll know what you will be doing in just fifteen minutes.’
Richard smiled too. ‘Tell me we’re not going to a restaurant.
The black limo parked outside a big building. It had twenty levels in it. It was massive touching the sky. There were many other cars in the parking.
‘Is this a hotel?’ Tony asked, very excitedly.
‘No, this is our Secret Service Headquarters. The head of Secret Service, Mr. Nicholas Steele, will meet you. He’ll be waiting,’ Victoria said, locking the limo door.
‘So it isn’t a hotel?’ Tony asked, sad again.
‘After the meeting, you can eat. Chief is a busy man,’ Victoria said sounding unpleasant by Tony’s repetition of the same sentence.
Victoria led them through the shops and show rooms. They went in the lift to the eighteenth level. They walked through the long corridors and halted in front of a desk. The reception girl on the chair nodded and pressed a button on her pad. A door appeared through the wall. They went through the passage.
There were four guards with machine guns, guarding the corridor. They all nodded when looked at Victoria. Victoria, Tony, Richard and George stopped in front of a door, which had a beautiful golden nameplate. On the nameplate it was written ‘Nicholas Steele’. And there was a bulb on top of the door, which was bright red.
3
As Victoria turned the doorknob, the bulb went green. She looked at the bulb and stepped in. It was a beautifully designed office with a desk in the middle. There were pictures of men and women on the walls. All of them were decent and some of them were old. The man sitting behind the desk was in his late thirties. He was Nicholas Steele. The leader of the Britain’s Secret Service. He had stern expressions on his face.
‘Chief, this is Richard, Tony and George,’ Victoria introduced them to her boss.
‘Hello,’ Richard said, stretching his hand towards him, for shake.
‘Sit down,’ chief boss said, in a harsh voice. He ignored Richard’s hand. Richard pulled his hand back with embarrassment. Tony sat on the chair, smiling. Richard was embarrassed and angry as well.
‘You two are just kids. I don’t believe what your government have told about you, is actually true,’ Steele said, in a nasty voice. There was so much hate in his voice.
‘You have heard of that sentence “A child is a man’s father”. So just suppose we are men’s father. But you don’t look like a man to me,’ Tony said, looking at Mr. Steele.
‘I don’t look like a man to you? What nonsense, you don’t even know how to talk and you are here claiming yourself as secret agents.’ Steele roared with anger.
‘Apology. Because of this hunger, you look like a Roast Steele to me. Well, that’s another thing when I’m done with eating you might start looking like a man to me.’ Tony was talking and talking.
‘You shut up! Nonsense! I am the head of Secret Service of this country and by my name, men start sweating. You are nothing but a bunch of kids. You understand?’ Steele said, angrier now.
‘Oh really? Then your name should be Heater Steele,’ Richard spoke this time. He was taking revenge on his insult.
‘Miss Victoria!’ Steele roared.
‘Yes boss,’ she answered, respectfully.
‘Take these kids to the airport now and send them back on any plane. I don’t want them here. You listening to me, SEND THEM BACK,’ Steele yelled, punching on the table.
‘Yes sir,’ Victoria said. ‘But Prime Minister will be seeing them this afternoon.’
‘Okay. Take them away. They’ll be under your eyes. I’ll talk to the Prime Minister. I bet he’ll send them away after talking to them,’ Steele said and waved his hand to the door, telling them to go.
‘Come,’ Victoria said and they stood up from their chairs.
‘You should be Secret Service doorkeeper instead of chief, Mister Roast Steele. Good bye,’ Tony said and exited the room.
Richard saw Steele’s face was like a hot fry pan. Richard made a face and exited. After a while they were in the car.
‘We’ll go to a hotel now,’ Victoria said, muttering.
‘Yes. Please hurry to a nearest hotel. I can’t bear it anymore,’ Tony said. Victoria smiled and turned the car in a hotel’s compound.
After ten minutes, they were on the table. The dinner was served and Tony was busy eating.
‘You have insulted chief very much. He would shoot you if you were here privately,’ Victoria said, eating.
‘And your dull chief insulted us. You don’t mind about that do you?’ Richard said.
‘He’s just like that. He’s hard,’ Victoria said, laughing.
‘Anyway Miss Victoria, what position you have in the Secret Service?’ Richard asked.
Tony was busy eating and Richard knew he wouldn’t even bother looking, until his eating is finished. That’s why he was busy in talking with Victoria. He wanted her to tell some information.
‘I am an A grade secret agent and in charge of a big group of Secret Service,’ Victoria replied.
‘That’s very good. Miss Victoria, why did you call us? We don’t even know why we are here,’ Richard said.
‘What is the point of telling you now? I think you are going this afternoon. Chief didn’t like you. But the problem is.’ She leaned forward a bit. ‘We have found out that our country is taken over a terrorist organization. Its called Black Rose. Its very powerful and all of our secrets are leaking. Secret Service tried but couldn’t found even one trace of it. Our every secret leaks the other day. I don’t know what happened. That’s why we called help and they send you lot here,’ Victoria explained.
‘But its clear that you have a spy among you that leaks the secret. That’s the only reason,’ Richard said, thinking.
‘Oh yeah it is. You are very intelligent but we couldn’t find him. I know,’ Victoria said, sadly.
‘Can you tell me some more about this Black Rose?’ Richard asked.
‘We don’t know about much detail. A year ago, we caught a guy. He had a letter in his pocket, which was written from Black Rose. It said that he had to find some information about our nuclear weapon. He killed himself at the spot so we couldn’t investigate it further. Like this, we caught many peoples regarding Black Rose but they all killed themselves. We managed to find out that Black Rose had some link with Reid building. Because we found a letter in a man’s pocket saying he had to go to Reid building,’ Victoria said telling him all the detail.
‘Did you check the building?’ Richard asked.
‘Reid building is a very big building. It has countless offices. We had checked every worker’s detail. But they were pure businessmen,’ Victoria said.
‘So is this the entire problem? You want us to destroy that organization?’
‘Yeah, we do. But chief does not,’ Victoria replied.
They all finished the dinner. Miss Victoria took them to a hotel, where special rooms were reserved for the three of them. Victoria told them that at five they should be ready for the prime minister. She left.
‘Now, tell me what were you talking about? I heard something about Black Rose. Something,’ Tony said, after Victoria left.
Richard told him all the detail. He listened and then he was lost in deep thought.
4
Reid building was really a big building of about 50 levels. It looked like a small city. Richard, Tony and George went there in a cab. After Victoria, they decided to find out some details before meeting prime minister. So, they came to the Reid building. But, standing in front of a big building, they thought which person would they ask and most importantly what would they ask? What is actually there to ask? Inside this building, there will be thousands of people.
‘Well, lets go to the reception,’ Tony said and the three of them entered the building. There were big show rooms here and there. People were busy looking around, studying things. There were few shops as well and most people were buying things.
They were just looking at the show rooms, when Tony spotted this young man in suit. He had a little artificial black rose on his collar. He was coming out of a jewellery shop and was exiting the building. He kept looking back as if someone was chasing him.
‘Come with me,’ Tony said and they followed him in the jewellery shop.
This was a very big show room. There were glass counters, in which were rings, bracelets, necklaces and jewellery stuff. There were four bodyguards guarding the shop. On the side, there was a desk and behind the desk was a man seated, looking relaxed.
Tony walked to the desk. Richard and George were behind him.
‘Yes,’ Manager said, looking at three of them.
‘Black Rose,’ Tony leaned forward and said in a low voice. The manager was surprised for a second then he controlled himself.
‘What do you mean?’ the manager said, sounding very unknown to the word. But Tony looked and he felt that this unknown expression is fake.
‘I mean black rose is very beautiful,’ Tony said smiling at him.
‘Oh, come with me,’ the manager said and got up. He looked calm now. He walked towards the corner of the show room. There was a door there. It was a normal door. Just in the corner. The manager opened the door and entered. Tony and others followed. It was a corridor and they felt cold. Maybe the bare walls, that’s why. They ended up in front of another door. The manager knocked three times on the door. The door opened.
‘Come on it. Boss is waiting,’ he said and went back in the corridor. Tony, Richard and George entered in the door, blinking. They entered a big circular room with a big table in the middle of it. The walls were of wood, which made the room attractive. On the big table were four different colours of telephones. Behind the big table was a beautiful girl.
The girl looked up. ‘What?’ she said in a low voice, more concentrating on her work.
‘When a rose turns black, it looks even more beautiful,’ Tony said sitting down.
‘Oh, which section are you from? I didn’t see you here before,’ the girl said, a bright gleam in her eyes.
‘Our section is our own section. Don’t worry about that,’ Tony said, rounding up.
‘Oh your own section. Actually, I have heard about the section a few times. Anyway, why did you come here?’ she asked.
‘We have been informed that some secret agents have come here from America. And we have been informed that these secret agents are working against us,’ Tony said.
‘Yes, you are right. My section is working on it. Miss Victoria of the Secret Service went to greet the agents. I have informed my agents to keep an eye on Victoria. By this, we’ll be able to know the spies. Then whatever chief boss will say, we’ll do just that,’ the girl said. Little did she know that who she was talking to.
‘Well, your programme is right but our idea is different from yours. Our source informed us that the government is playing a trick on us. The spies with Victoria are fake. They are not real. The real ones are somewhere else. They are doing their job while we are looking after the fake ones,’ Tony said, playing a trick.
‘Oh if its true then this is really a dangerous plot. I’ll inform my men right now,’ the girl said in a very concerned voice.
‘Well, we came here for this reason and to tell you about what's going on. You tell the chief boss as well. Our section doesn’t have a direct contact with chief so you tell him. And remember you do not mention us what so ever. We like to keep our section hidden,’ Tony said.
‘Oh yeah, I’ll tell him right now,’ the girl said and she opened the drawer and out came a calculator. She pressed some numbers. Tony’s eyes were fixed on the pressing numbers. After pressing all the numbers, she pressed the multiply button. Then, a voice came from the calculator. A voice like its coming from a deep well.
‘Black Rose Headquarters,’ the voice said from the other side.
‘Section thirty speaking,’ the girl replied to his voice.
‘Yes,’ the voice said and the girl explained all the detail Tony gave her. She didn’t mention Tony in the whole thing.
‘Good idea. This really can be done. Anyway, you do your work. I’ll send section eleven on this mission,’ the voice replied from the other end.
‘Very well,’ the girl said, smiling.
‘Okay bye bye,’ the voice said and the girl switched the thing off. She put it back in the drawer and closed it.
‘I think it’ll be better if we introduce ourselves. My name is Rachel and I am the in charge of section thirty. You can call me Rach if you want,’ the girl said smiling. She was happy because the chief boss was glad and happy to hear the information she just gave. This could promote her to a higher level.
‘My name is Ross. This is my partner Mark and that is Mr. X,’ Tony said telling her false names.
‘Oh, but you are just teenagers,’ Rachel said.
‘This is what our section is best at. People tend to ignore us, thinking we are a couple of kids,’ Tony said.
‘That’s right. Nobody can tell by looking at you that you actually work for a big organization,’ Rach said.
‘Okay, we are going on. We have a lot more to do,’ Tony said standing up.
‘Yeah okay. We both can keep in touch and we can exchange some information in the future. Would you like to?’ Rach suggested an idea.
‘That’ll be great. You are a good lady and we surely will keep in touch with you,’ Tony said and Rach blossomed with happiness. Her face had gone red. Tony, Richard and George exited the show room.
After quite a while, they were in the hotel.
‘That is the way you should work. Victoria and others were saying you couldn’t find anything about Black Rose. Well, here we are,’ Richard said, laughing.
‘Yeah, we were lucky. I mean I didn’t know if this was some kind of code between them. I just guessed. I didn’t even guess. I just spoke. Well, after all its been ten-out-of-ten day,’ Tony said.
Then he picked up the phone and called the manager to bring some food.
‘Hey you just ate a while ago,’ Richard said.
‘Oh no. don’t start.’
‘No, you don’t start,’ Richard said.
‘I have to start.’
‘There we go again,’ Richard said and picked up the digest. He jumped on the bed and began reading while Tony desperately waited for the food.
On the third bed, George had his eyes closed, relaxing.
5
It was five in the evening. The phone rang and Tony picked it up.
‘Hi, it’s Victoria.’
‘Yes, Tony speaking,’ Tony said, making his voice quite serious.
‘You lot get ready. In a few moments, Prime Minister’s staff car will be there to pick you up. I will be in that car,’ Victoria said from the other side.
‘Miss Victoria, we’ll come to Prime Minister House by ourselves. You don’t send us the staff car,’ Tony said.
‘But why?’ Victoria asked.
‘Black Rose’s section thirty is watching you,’ Tony said.
‘Section thirty?’ Victoria asked sounding very puzzled.
‘Yeah, Black Rose knows we are here and they also know that you are with us. So, they are watching you to get to us. You understand?’ Tony said.
‘Yeah, but how do you know?’ Victoria asked.
‘We have met the in charge of section thirty and she spoke to the chief also in front of us,’ Tony answered.
‘How can I believe it? We have been doing this job for months and you guys have succeeded sitting in the hotel,’ Victoria said.
‘You think that we were here in the hotel all day? Anyway, you believe it or not. We are coming to the Prime Minister House by ourselves. Tell the gatekeepers,’ Tony said.
‘Okay that’s fine. Come in a taxi,’ Victoria said and Tony hung up.
‘She didn’t believe me,’ Tony said to Richard, laughing.
‘Well, she was right in her place. It was just a guess, wasn’t it?’ Richard said.
‘Yeah. I think we should go. Time is short.’ Tony stood up and so did Richard.
‘George,’ Tony said.
‘Yes?’ he answered.
‘You follow us in another taxi. And check if we are being followed or not. Understand?’ Tony said.
‘Now who in the world would like to follow us?’ Richard asked.
‘This spy thing is like that. You need to be careful in every direction. Maybe Rachel is not happy with us and she tell her men to follow us. This can be a possibility. Am I right?’ Tony said.
‘Yeah,’ Richard said.
They exited the room and went downstairs. The lady at the reception was busy working. Tony glanced at the desk then they both walked out of the hotel. They waited for a taxi to come. Then, a taxi came parked in front of them. The taxi driver dropped the window down.
‘Where do you wanna go?’ he asked.
‘Prime Minister House,’ Tony said.
He laughed. ‘Is there a rock concert today there?’ he joked.
‘Yeah, there is actually,’ Tony said, sitting in the taxi on the backseat.
‘Do you have money?’ the driver asked suspiciously.
‘Here, take this as advance.’ Tony dropped a note in his lap. The driver put the gear in and on he went on the big road.
They both sat on the back seats because the driver had put some stuff on the side seat. Taxi went from several roads to a narrow road. There weren’t even streetlights on this road. He drove faster. There was no other car on this road. Far away, Tony could see small hills and rocks.
‘Where are you going?’ Tony asked suddenly.
‘Prime Minister House,’ the driver said in a certain voice.
‘No! Prime Minister House is not this way,’ suddenly Tony yelled and grabbed the driver’s neck with his both hands. The driver jerked his body in a special way and Tony felt like some one pushed him back on the seat.
The driver pressed a button on the dashboard and there was a noise. At first, Tony couldn’t make out what was happening. Then, he realized there was a strong window between the back seats and the driver.
Tony tried to open the doors but the handle was jammed.
‘What’s happening?’ Richard asked in a horrific voice.
‘We are being kidnapped,’ Tony said looking back. He wanted to check on George if he was there. But he couldn’t see any car lights. Maybe George hadn’t found a taxi in time.
‘You are nasty nasty kids. That’s why I have done this. Don’t worry. I will take you the Prime Minister House,’ the driver said, from the microphone that was on the ceiling of the car.
‘Why are you kidnapping us? We have not enough money and we don’t have rich parents who can give you a lot of money,’ Tony said.
The driver laughed very loudly. ‘So you are thinking I am kidnapping you? No kids, it’s not like that. I am really taking you to the Prime Minister House. But not U.K’s Prime Minister House. Instead I am taking you to our organization’s Prime Minister House,’ the driver said sounding very nasty.
‘What?’
‘Yes. We have our own prime minister, who is very cruel. He will torture you and probably kill you,’ the driver said.
‘Oh, you are scaring me.’ Richard was very terrified by all this. He was almost weeping.
‘You will know by yourself in a moment,’ the driver said and turned the car in a small road. There were trees on the sides so the road was camouflage. After a few minutes, the car turned in a big driveway.
This was a castle-like house. It was huge. The driver stopped the car in the porch. There were four armed guards standing near the door. The car stopped and the driver pressed the button. The glass disappeared and the door opened. Two men dragged Tony and Richard out of the car.
‘What are you doing?’ Richard said crying.
‘Stupid kids were going to be spies. Look at you now,’ one of the men said in a hatred voice.
The men dragged them through several rooms in the castle. They stopped in front of a door. The man knocked the door in a unique way and the door opened itself. They entered along with Tony and Richard. The door closed itself.
In the corner of the room, behind the big table, was a man with a mask on. The mask was on all of his face except eyes. He had glasses on his eyes.
‘So the great spies have arrived, haven’t they?’ the masked man said in a loud and severe voice.
‘Yes boss! Number two bought them in. Shall we shoot them?’ the man, who bought Tony and Richard in, asked.
‘No, not yet. I need some information from them,’ the masked man said and he got up from his chair. He walked to them very fearlessly.
‘Government of America said that you have done very big tasks,’ the masked man said.
‘In our government’s eyes they might be big missions but in our eyes they were just simple tasks,’ Tony said, sounding bold and fearless.
But the second moment, he screamed. The masked man had slapped him on the face. There were even fingerprints on Tony’s cheeks.
‘Who do you think you are?’ the masked man shouted in his face.
‘But who are you and why did you bring us here?’ this time Richard asked, in a small frightening voice.
The masked man turned to Richard and ignored his question. ‘Tell me why you went to Reid building and in that jeweller shop. Who told you the codes?’ he asked.
‘We don’t even know where Reid building is,’ Tony said acting very innocent.
‘Hmm, now you are going to tell lies as well,’ the masked man said in a loud voice and then he turned and faced a guard. ‘Tell Rachel of section thirty to come here right now. And put these two kids in room five.’
‘Yes boss,’ the guard replied and walked to the door. The rest of guards followed him with Tony and Richard ahead of them. After a minute, the guards chucked the two of them in a room with a metal floor. They were hurt so much, but they didn’t care about there bruises. Tony got up and tried to open the door but it was locked. The room was full of metal. The floor and walls were silvery metal too.
‘We’re dead,’ Richard said, sitting in a corner and began crying.
‘Slapped I was and crying you are. In this spy game it happens,’ Tony said smiling.
‘To hell with this spy game. We were studying and enjoying our holidays. These men are evil. They will kill us surely,’ Richard said.
‘Death will only come once. But for now, think about getting out of this room,’ Tony said, inspecting the room.
The room was empty. There were no windows. The floor, Tony noticed, was of metal. He was just examining the floor, he felt something in his feet. The room’s floor was getting hot.
‘Oh, this is getting hot,’ Richard said, standing up.
‘Yeah.’ Tony felt it too and then they both start jumping because the floor was getting hot every second. After a while, they started shouting and screaming with pain. Their bodies were sweating and their eyes were boiling out. They were feeling like they were being drowned in the sea of fire.
6
George stepped out of the hotel after Richard and Tony. But he hid himself in a dark alley. His eyes were fixed on the road. There wasn’t any signs of taxi on the road.
George heard a whispering nearby. He wasn’t focussed in the alley. He looked back. He saw at the far end of the alley, was a car. He saw the driver was talking in a mobile. He was talking very slowly and in intervals. George concentrated hard on what he was saying. He got a few sentences of his. ‘Yes boss. I will bring those two kids to the headquarters. Don’t worry. I won’t let them feel suspicious. Count on me, boss.’ George understood by two boys that this was something about Tony and Richard. He walked near the car and slipped himself at the rear side of the car. He realized that this was a taxi. The driver was busy in talking.
George thought for a second, sitting there on the back of the taxi. Then he took out a wire, which had a hook on one end. George slipped it in the lock and turned it about. There was a click and the lock was opened. George put the wire back in his pocket and flipped open the boot of the car, slowly. He slipped himself in it and closed it enough to breath and to look outside. The car began to crawl. After a few moments, it stopped.
‘Where do you wanna go?’ the driver asked.
‘Prime Minister House.’ George heard Tony’s voice.
‘Is there a rock concert today there?’ the driver asked and laughed.
George heard the doors opened. ‘Yeah, there is actually.’ This was Tony’s voice.
George thought for a second that he could get out of the car and grab the driver. But he stopped himself because he wanted to see the headquarters.
The car began to go fast now on the road. It crossed a few roads then George felt as if it was going straight. He peeked and saw that it was a straight narrow road with no streetlights. He heard some hard laughing and he understood the driver had done something to Tony and Richard. The car was fast that’s why he could not do anything.
The car turned in a road and through the trees, it stopped. He listened to the footsteps of four men. For one second, he thought they were going to open it and grab him. But instead, he heard Richard and Tony’s voices. They were being carried away. Soon, there was an utter silence. George opened the boot and came out. He looked around. It was a huge house with so many windows and doors. He ran to the wall and hid himself there. He heard footsteps and saw the driver got in and drove the car back. The porch was empty now. Tony and Richard were in the mansion now. George, carefully, walked through the porch and from the side of the castle he went to the backside. The castle was big. It looked like it was very old and rusty.
He was just turning around the corner, when he heard a dog’s growling. George bent and grabbed the dog before he began to bark loud. He twisted his neck in one single jerk and the dog was dead. George chucked him on the corner and walked ahead. He stopped and saw a big door. It was like twenty feet up from the ground. There were stairs to the door.
George went up the stairs quickly. He didn’t want anybody to notice him. He opened the door and went inside. It was a wide corridor. There were windows on both sides and doors. This might be a cellar or something. He saw a light coming through one of the windows. He went near the window. This was a wood frame but George couldn’t see through the window. The glass was broken from one side. He peeked through the glass and saw five guard men and a masked man. There was a big television in front of them. In the screen, a room was viewed. A man was controlling a big regulator, which was fixed on the wall.
George saw in the television, there was room and in the room were Tony and Richard.
‘Turn on the sound.’ The masked man’s voice came. The room was echoed with a loud voice. The man at the regulator pressed a button. The next moment, George heard the screams of Tony and Richard.
‘More heat,’ the masked man said and the guard turned the knob. There were more loud screams of pain from the room.
George clenched his teeth. Then he grabbed the wood frame to pull it off and was just about to jump in the room but the masked man spoke before George did anything.
‘Turn it off,’ he commanded and the masked man turned it off at once. Tony and Richard stopped jumping and fell on the floor as if they were dead. They were breathing so hard. They were very hurt.
The masked man grabbed a microphone. ‘Tell me now. Why did you go to the jewellery shop in Reid building?’ he asked.
‘We went there to find out about Black Rose,’ Tony said in a breathless voice.
‘But how do you know it was Black Rose. And who told you those codes?’
‘Nobody did. I fired in the dark,’ Tony answered.
‘Shut up and tell me the truth or I’ll turn the heat on. This time it’ll boil your blood,’ the masked man said, yelling.
‘I am telling you the truth,’ Tony said.
‘Turn on the heat,’ the masked man commanded.
But the next moment, the door opened and two men came in with a young woman. George knew she was the one in the Reid building. Her name was Rachel.
‘Stop! First let me talk to Rachel,’ the masked man said to the regulator guy and he stopped.
Rachel was terrified by all this.
‘Ms Rachel, are these the boys that came to you?’ the masked asked, pointing towards the television. Rachel looked.
‘Yes, these are the ones. They told me the right code words though. There came telling me that they had their own section. I was thinking about the legendary section of Black Rose. But I thought how could boss trust little kids. When they left, my men told me that two boys were in the city with Victoria. Then, I informed you about this,’ Rachel said.
‘Ms Rachel, I knew about them before anyone else did. But I’m concerned how the heck did they manage to get in your office?’ the masked man asked.
‘I don’t know,’ Rachel said.
‘This means that there is some weaknesses by which these boys found out about your section. I want to find those weaknesses.’ the masked man muttered.
‘Boss, as far as I know, these boys got interested in the shop because of the section eleven’s number three. He was there dropping your message to me just before these boys came. And as it is his habit, he has a black rose on his collar,’ Rachel said.
‘Oh, that man has been told many times not to put the Rose badge up in public but he still doesn’t care.’ the masked man said and turned to a guard. ‘Call murder section and tell them to take out number three of section eleven.’
‘Very well boss,’ the man replied and exited the room.
‘Turn on the heat on full power,’ masked man shouted and the regulator guy’s hand was on the knob. He was just going to turn it on; the glass broke from the upper corner of the room. Everyone looked up and saw George and a bomb in his hand.
‘Don’t you move a muscle. I’ll blow this room,’ George yelled and he flashed the bomb.
‘Everyone drop their weapons and gather in a corner,’ George said in a loud voice that echoed the room.
A guard was just about to straighten his machine gun and point towards George, the masked man stopped him. ‘Don’t you see he’s got a bomb in his hand.’
‘Hurry up,’ George yelled and everyone gathered in a corner. There was a pile of weapons in the middle of the room.
‘I want those two boys here in this room. You have only five minutes, or else I’ll drop this bomb.’
The masked man told his guard to go get the boys. This time he spoke very gently. George saw on the television, the man telling Tony and Richard to get out. Then they disappeared from the room. Just before five minutes, Tony and Richard were in the room. They entered the room, the masked man flashed a hand and the men behind Tony and Richard grabbed their bodies. The masked man laughed.
‘You are trapped in your own trap. Now try throwing the bomb,’ the masked man said, laughing very loudly.
Then George realized what a terrible mistake he had done. Now he can’t drop a bomb. It would kill Tony and Richard too.
Masked man ordered his men to grab the weapons, but the next moment the two men who had grabbed Tony and Richard, were on the floor. When their eyes were fixed on George, they took the chance and twisted their bodies to shake them off. The guards leapt towards Tony and Richard instead picking their weapons. Tony and Richard were fighting in the room. Tony had kicked two guards and Richard was on the masked man. Then Richard slashed off his mask and they were both shocked for a second.
It was Nicholas Steele. Right in front of them. The head of Black Rose.
‘Run, run outside,’ suddenly George shouted from the window. Tony and Richard jumped and ran towards the door and out in the corridor.
‘Kill them!’ Steele shouted. And Ms Rachel, Steele and two men followed them outside.
George put the bomb back in his pocket and ran through the door. It was stupid to wait there. He went outside and into another door. He wanted to get to Tony and Richard.
He turned another corner, he heard footsteps from the other side. He turned around to see. He saw Tony and Richard bumping into him and they fell on the stairs. Rachel appeared after them. She had a gun in her left hand and her finger was on the trigger.
George fired as he saw Rachel and the bullet went right into her ribcage, spilling blood all over the stairway. A guard appeared on the door at that moment and he fired at George. He didn’t saw Rachel dead on the floor so he slipped and fell on the stairs, rolling into Tony and Richard. George took control of himself and grabbed the guard’s neck and banged a punch on his head. His head busted in thousand pieces.
‘Come!’ George said. He climbed the stairs and went outside. He saw barking of the dogs from the other side and decided to go in the door where he was looking through the window earlier. Tony and Richard followed him in that door. George stopped in front of the window and took a rope out of his pocket. He tied it up and got down using the rope in the main room. They went into a door and into the corridor. George stopped at the end of the corridor. There was a door and George heard Steele was talking in the room. He opened the door enough to hear what he was saying.
‘Chief boss! Both boys and his fellow are clever. But they won’t get out of this castle,’ Steele was talking on a transmitter.
‘Kill them and report me afterwards or else you’ll die,’ the voice spoke from the other end.
George jumped on Steele. His hand was on his neck. Steele was struggling. He bowed and jerked his body so strongly that it made George fall on the other side of the room where Tony and Richard were already standing. Steele pulled up the red-coloured lever.
The space beneath Tony, Richard and George disappeared and they fell in a hole. They fell on a metal fence. The metal fence was very thin. Tony looked around. They were in a well. A dark well.
Abruptly, the lights went on with a click and this startled all three of this. Beneath the metal fence were three rotatory blades, which were fixed in the wall. The blades were appearing from this wall and disappearing into other. The blades were sharp, by looking at it.
‘Now you three will die a terrifying death that you can’t even imagine.’ Steele laughed in a horrible way. He turned on the blades and they started spinning slowly. After a minute, the blades were spinning very rapidly. Tony can feel the air the blades were giving up. He smelled the air of death and rust of iron. It seemed these blades were running for the first time.
‘And I will remove this fence and you will drop down, and result. Your bodies crushed into millions of pieces.’ A voice came, from the walls.
The walls were smooth and plain. The face of the wall was too high. It was impossible to get out.
‘Are you the chief of Black Rose?’ Tony asked.
‘Oh, so you still are asking questions after facing death. I am just a low-grade man that plays in Black Rose. Black Rose is a very big power. You can’t get to it,’ Steele barked.
‘We’ll make a deal. You forgive us and let us go our country. We’ll never come here again,’ Richard said in a very frightening voice.
Steele laughed. ‘Begging for your life, eh? What have you thought about Black Rose? Kids like you can’t even reach to its dust. This is true you have succeeded in tracing a section. But Black Rose is one big organization. So big you can’t even imagine it,’ Steele said.
The blades were running very fast under the fence. Tony, Richard and George knew very well that if this fence disappeared, they would die for sure. There is no way they were going to live. Tony was thinking very hard to get out of this situation and that’s why he began talking to Steele.
‘Okay, your time is up. I will give your thousand pieces as a gift to chief. He will be happy,’ Steele said.
‘Stick with the walls. Hurry,’ suddenly Tony shouted and they all attached themselves with the round walls. The fence vanished with a clicking noise and the next moment Tony and others were dropping down freely into the blades. Damn gravity, Tony thought, their death was for sure now.
The blades were getting near. And their last screams were echoed in the wall.
To Be Cont.
