“Your mother is certainly not out there.” A familiar voice said behind us. Evelyn was stood with two other people.
Vampire, Witch and Werewolf. I wonder who the vampire is and who the werewolf is, because it is obvious that Evelyn is the witch. Right?
“MOTHER!” Natasha squealed and ran to her.
“Antoinette, I think they are here now. Either it is them, or we have another enemy.” She said to me.
I nodded, “What are we going to do?”
She sighed, “Ask what they want.”
“Well that is obvious they want to take over.” Damien blurted.
“Well they are not taking over so easily, our creatures and armies are out there now. They should get rid of them easily.” She smiled.
“Not if they are too strong, like Lucinda.” I mumbled.
“What else is there to do then?” She asked.
I thought about the answer to that question, well if Christopher’s serum is the thing that made Lucinda stronger then there must be something that makes her weaker… I GOT IT. Like an antidote to a virus, I can make sort of an antidote to make her weaker and possibly die.
I sighed, if she is the one that bit my parents that means… I have to kill them too. But that is what I have to do right now. I just need to know what was in that serum then I could make an anti-serum?
“I need to know what was in that serum that Christopher made.” I blurted.
“How are we going to do that?” Dominic asked.
“Well, if it was injected into her blood it should still be in her blood just going round and round and round. We just need to get a sample of her blood.” Evelyn murmured.
I crossed my arms childishly, “That is going to be impossi…, wait…, I know!”
“What? You know what?” Ben said confused.
“Stay here, I need to find someone.” I smiled heading towards the door.
However, was stopped by Ben as he grabbed my arm. “Not if you’re going out there!”
“I have too, please, trust me.” I said pulling an angelic face.
“But…, fine but I’m coming too.” He said.
“No, you are going to stay here and stay with them.” I ordered.
“You can’t tell me what to do.”
“Um… I just did. Now stay.” I grinned and ran off. I opened the entrance to the palace and headed towards the village screams and gun shots. I saw blood and corpses that were in half. I felt queasy but I had to try and find Blake. I knew he would somehow be able to get Lucinda’s blood.
I searched everywhere. I saw people getting killed and the life sucked out of them, I crept through the alleyways to keep out of sight. Thankfully I found Blake in a flower shop, looking at roses and other types of flowers.
I rushed to him and hugged him tightly.
“What… Oh…” He blurted then places his arms on my shoulders.
“I have missed you so much!” I murmured.
“I have missed you more.” He said softly, his arms tightening around me as if I was to fly away any second.
I giggled and kissed him softly on the lips, “Uh-uh. Anyway, I was wondering if you could do a favour for me.”
He smiled warmly, “Of course. What is it?”
“I need you to get a sample of Lucinda’s blood.”
“Miss Tomlinson’s? Why?”
“Please do not ask why, I do not want to tell you.”
“Tell me. What are you going to do?”
I sighed, “I have to get rid of her and the people she changed.”
He frowned, “But then you would have to get rid of me.”
“What?!” I gasped.
“She changed me; does that mean you are going to have to get rid of me?”
“No. I would never do that.” I reassured firmly.
“What are you going to do with me then?”
“Anything I have too, to keep you alive.” I smiled and put my hand on his cheek.
He snuggled into my touch, “Promise?”
“I swear.”
“Okay. I will get the blood for you. Easy, just wait here.”
“Thank you.”
He grinned, “Anything for my fiancé.”
Then something struck my mind. “Wait, Blake!”
“Yes?”
“You said Lucinda changed you right?” I asked.
“Yes. I did.” He smiled.
“Then that means I can just take your blood and use it to find out what Christopher put in that serum.”
He shifted, “Do I have too? Would it not be easier for me to get Miss Tomlinson’s blood?”
“Okay, but be careful.” I smiled.
He nodded and left.
My smile stayed and I looked around at the flowers, wow these are so pretty. I wonder who owned this shop.
“Back,”
“Wow that was fast.” I smiled.
“Yup, I have a way around everything.” He grinned.
“Okay that is set then. I better get to work.” I beamed and headed back to the palace.
“Antoinette?”
I turned round, “Yes?”
“What about us?”
“What about us?”
“Do not leave me again, please.” He pleaded.
“Well then come with me.” I suggested taking his hand.
“Will they not dislike me?”
“I do not care, come on.”
So he did and we arrived back at the palace safely.
However, the palace was not the safest place.
The palace was now swarmed with blood and dead bodies. Amongst them were Lucinda’s soldiers, some may say. I gasped and pushed my face into Blake’s shoulder. He wrapped his arms around me so I felt safe.
“What is going on over there?”
I looked round and there was a big formation of people as if to watch something. I squeezed through the excited crowd and found Ben, Maggie, Dominic, Mark, Jason, Clarissa, Damien, the elders and Evelyn’s daughter Natasha all on their knees with Les Rebelles council members grinning proudly.
“Now, we shall start a ceremony of the death of these people; a family of trouble and our beloved elders. A cheer roared through the crowd.
Ben caught sight of me and looked at me with pleading eyes. I mimed that I would be quick.
I love you, he mimed back.
I stood there shocked just staring into his eyes.
No time for this!
I reluctantly ran inside the palace with Blake at my heels. I ran upstairs to the rooms I had found.
There must be a lab of some sort here.
Luckily there was and I started straight away.
“Okay Blake, how long does the so-called ceremony last for? I need to know how much time I have.”
“I do not know, they have not practised it, but probably a good half an hour.”
“Okay, I think I will be done by then.”
“Done?”
“I am going to try and produce some sort of gas that will kill the Les Rebelles instantly.”
“What about me?”
“You will stay inside whilst I throw the gas everywhere so you will not inhale it understood?”
He nodded and I smiled.
No time for romance, you must get to work if you want to save your friends in time.
Fifteen minutes passed I was almost there, but there was one chemical missing. I panicked and looked around the room.
Why is it a lab but does not have the chemicals needed?!
I finally found it in one of the cupboards and sighed with relief. I had finished, I made enough to wipe out all of them; even the ones that were not changed by Lucinda herself.
You need to tell Ben’s family not to breath.
“Stay here.” I said firmly to Blake after I had checked all the windows were closed and none of the gas could come in.
He nodded and kissed me before I left.
I rushed downstairs and sneaked, un-noticed, towards the crowd.
“Right, this is the time. The sun is setting. We shall rule the world when these misfits are dead.”
“Three!”
“Two!”
“Not so fast.” I grinned.
“Who? Who was that?!” I heard one of the Les Rebelles council say.
“Antoinette. Remember? You forced Blake to wipe my memory.”
“Ah yes.” The man I recognised from the council smiled as I walked towards him, “I always thought you would be very useful for us. Obviously you chose a different path. Now you will have to die too.”
His guards seized my wrists; I just grinned and set fire with a match to my poisonous gas. An immediate explosion of red smoke came from the tiny jar it was contained in.
I quickly rushed over to Ben and whispered to everyone to hold their breath and hold on to each other as I would lead them back into the palace. As I slipped through the crowd, people were dissolving; dying from the gas I had produced. As Ben and everyone went into the palace, I watched as my own parents screamed in agony then, soon turned into dust like the others. Tears welled up in my eyes and I felt someone tug me into the palace.
Once I was inside the persons arms were around me tight.
I straightened myself, “Is everyone alright?”
They all nodded and I smiled in relief. I saw Blake walk down the stairs. Everyone immediately frowned and got ready if he attacked.
“Whoa! I told you they would not like me.” He said wide eyed at how many people were growling at him. It was only Evelyn who had remained calm.
“Leave him.” She ordered.
“But he is…” One of the elders said in disbelief.
“I said leave him, Antoinette can choose to do whatever she wants with him.” She smiled at me.
Thank you, I mimed and she nodded.
“Actually Antoinette, I have something I would like to give you for your bravery. Would you mind following me?” She enquired.
I followed her but turned back to look at everyone, “One scratch on him and I will never forgive you, any of you.”
“Take all the fun out of life then.” Dominic grinned and I pulled a face then carried on following Evelyn.
When stopped inside her room she told me to sit and went to go get something out of her drawer.
She handed me a box, a nicely decorated box.
“You really do not have too.” I sighed.
“No, I do. Plus I do not wear it much and I thought it would match you better.” She smiled.
I opened it and it was a beautifully carved opal heart.
I gasped, “Wow!”
“Here, let me put it on.”
I let her put it around my neck, “Thank you.”
“No problem.”
I played with it happily.
“I see you are engaged.”
I flushed, “Yes I am.”
“To that Blake Chambers?”
I nodded.
Her nostrils flared.
“What is the matter?”
“I thought you and Benjamin Anderson had a certain link between you.”
I laughed awkwardly, “We are just friends.”
“I do not think he wants that.”
I looked at my finger guiltily, “I have already fallen for Blake. For now I cannot change my mind.”
“You are lying. You already fell for Ben did you not? But Blake came along, he swept you off your feet in a way no one else probably could have. Your heart changed its mind, from the loving safety of Ben’s heart. To the seductive yet sweet Blake’s heart, tell me if I am false.”
“I guess you are right, but…”
She smiled understandingly, “It is your life, and you can do what you want. But you must realise what you really want and who you would be hurting. After all, Ben has loved you longer than Blake. He has waited longer for you to become comfortable with him whereas, any other boy would turn their backs and left you”
My heart started to ache.
“I think you should go now, they are waiting for you. I have arranged transport for you, who you leave here with is your choice.” She murmured.
I nodded and went slowly towards the door then back down the stairs out the entrance.
“Thank goodness, we thought we would have to leave without you.” Dominic’s voice said.
I looked up and smiled at the gleeful faces.
Ben came up to me and kissed my forehead, “Come on.” He led me towards the departure with Blake trailing behind.
I closed my eyes guiltily, “I hope we will meet again, infact, hope that we stay in touch.”
Ben looked confused at me then laughed, “Who are you talking to?”
I kept my eyes on the ground, “You.”
“What?” He gulped.
“Okay, we’ll leave you for now.” The others said, Maggie dragging Blake to his transport.
“Antoinette? What are you talking about?” Ben asked again.
“I am leaving with Blake.” I murmured a lump forming in my throat.
“But.., I thought..., is this a joke? Because it isn’t funny at the moment.”
“It is not a joke.” I said looking up at him now.
His eyes pleaded me to stay with him, forever.
“Antoinette..,” He said hands taking mine.
I pulled away quickly.
“Don’t.” I said firmly
I felt his eyes on my back as I headed towards Blake.
“Ready to go?” He smiled warmly.
I nodded, “Yes, I am.”
I got into the carriage as Blake told the man escorting us where he was to take us.
As the carriage started to move, I did not look back.
This might be the biggest mistake I have ever made.
But we all make mistakes; maybe this one will not have a bad outcome.
And so I snuggled up to my husband-to-be, walking away from my closest friend.
The boy who, from what I was aware of, had loved me ever since we met.
And the boy, from what my heart told me, I have loved ever since we met.
