Paper folding is an art
Minute detail
Beautiful colors
I, a crane...
Revered, awe-inspiring
Soft voices caress me
Clumsy fingers tear me.

I think of my breathing counterpart
His silky white wings
How he disappears into the sun, unscathed
I wish my paper wings could lift me
By my will...

Now only a toss to the wind
Or a child's breath
Can send me spiraling to my earth
In a single flight
Before my wings are crumpled and forgotten
Not shattered in an epic battle with the elements--
But cast aside by the most trivial of judges.

Someday, I will find justice with the sky.
