Stands hovering over me scratches his side and switches his stance.
Turns my way and looks over at me, making sure I am still there.
Steps backwards, then forwards, dancing with the devils ‘til they die.
I move back casting my strength upon him, praying for him to heal.
Enveloped in a brilliant light, safe now by the grace of my concerns.
The demons shriek in terror, madly beat upon him; yet he goes unharmed.
I know he shall not lose the battle as he was never meant to fall.
As the demons turn on me in their masses and their cruelty I am overcome.
I step aside and fade to the darkness, hoping they will not see my true nature lies in shadow.
Moving to my side, grabbing their hate, and enraging them; they see only him.
Masterfully, quite beautifully, the blades spin, the fires erupt and the demons fall back to hell.
And back at my side, he stands in peace there, as if nothing had happened.
Such a mystery, the mighty that wield and walk in light; they that are the light.
I sit to drink and look up at him, towering before me. Never have I felt safer.
