When lonely sets in like a dusk into my heart
The pages of every book and strewn into fray
I look around me in the heart of a city barren
Imagining I am holding your hand looking up
At the cars as they pass by so many messages
On the signs and all around me like an imprint
Of a memory and so many times before whispers

“When the dark wood fell before me
And all the paths were overgrown
When the priests of pride say there is no other way
I tilled the sorrows of stone
I did not believe because I could not see
Though you came to me in the night
When the dawn seemed forever lost
You showed me your love in the light of the stars
Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me
Then the mountain rose before me
By the deep well of desire
From the fountain of forgiveness
Beyond the ice and fire
Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me
Though we share this humble path, alone
How fragile is the heart
Oh give these clay feet wings to fly
To touch the face of the stars
Breathe life into this feeble heart
Lift this mortal veil of fear
Take these crumbled hopes, etched with tears
We'll rise above these earthly cares
Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me
Please remember me”

And then in disarray I felt the winds chill
As the rains came pouring down
In the faces of so many I loved
Passed away into the moments bliss
I could manage all of these emotions
In your thoughts and empowered by all of this
As two hands holding in a peace they whispered

“You hold the answers deep within your own mind.
Consciously, you've forgotten it.
That's the way the human mind works.
Whenever something is too unpleasant, too shameful for us
to entertain, we reject it.
We erase it from our memories.
But the imprint is always there."

Silent and confused again into a quiet world
Disappearing again into some dark place you go
I hold your face and stare into your heart again
Wondering what that world you see must do to you
Forced my hand that I must leave you to your ferocity
To dabble in mixtures with your demons dancing free
Helplessly in love with he that leaves me sitting in alone
Whispering to myself in understanding “don’t leave me here”

"Because I'll die if you do."
"Because I'll die if you do."
"Because I'll die if you do."
"Because I'll die if you do."
"Because I'll die if you do."
