Becoming

Becoming

Time is the spinning clock

The hands of the clock move fast

So fast that when you go to stop the hands

You will get cut, you will bleed

This feeling, this pain is how you learn

Learning is a lifelong process

You go to school but school can’t teach

The things that will save your soul
when it’s time to go

You grow older everyday

The older you get the faster the days

The faster the days the less time you have

The less time you have, the faster it seems to move

By the time it’s time to slow down

Your children have grown older

You have aged as well

The wind is colder, your skin is weaker

Your youth was wasted learning

Learning what to do when this time comes

It’s ironic that you spend all of your time

Becoming who you want to become inside

By the time you’ve become who you want

The time is up, and you can’t be this person

But by that age, the fact that you reached it

The fact that you’ve learned and grew

Is enough for you to peacefully sleep

Retire from the Earth
