“They
can fly on this planet, like us.”
Dracona pointed towards the
winged species souring above.
“What are they called?” asked Lucifer.
“They are called Prismettes. See how their wings catch the light? Look you can even see the veins. And see how that light pierces the skin making rainbows in the air? Just like a prism.”
The prismettes were indeed beautiful creatures. Their bodies were lined with long whisker like sensors, which they used instead of eyes. They whipped through the air casting colorful shadows upon the ground, if such a thing existed. Willow like creatures wavered there long blue leaves in the soft breeze. The two angels stood there invisible to every organism.
“You know,” Dracona continued “, the prismettes believe that the sky is the ocean of another world that sits above them. They also think that their ocean has a world bellow and so on and so forth. I guess if you think about it the asteroids that come so close to this planet look like fish. Amazing isn’t it?”
“Mm-hmm.”
Lucifer did not really listen to her. They had important business and their client was late. Supposedly at this spot there was to be the birth of one of the prismettes kind that would become their greatest leader, the name of this being would be Intelligence translated from their silent language. If the mother (also father as the prismettes where asexual) were to have it without the angels here it would kill its offspring since the child is a bastard.
A strange violet mist started to descend from the mountains. It slowly began to consume the forest and stretch its finger towards them. The mist was so thick that you could cut it with a knife. It finally veiled everything and the angels could see nothing but strands of it whirling around them.
“Oh no,” Dracona grabbed for Lucifer.
“What?”
“This was not supposed to happen. There was never supposed to be mist and there is sulfur in this mist. Can’t you smell it? We can not sense or use any power.”
“But
it was already prophesied that we would come and save the infant. How
can this fog…”
The mist had gone away as stealthily as it
had come, like a ghost. In front of them laid a butchered baby and
its mother grooming itself as if nothing had happened. Lucifer’s
eyes opened wide as crystals started forming around the corpses
innards. He knelt beside the body and wept. Angels weep blood, which
was why his face was stained red as it further trickled down his
golden skin. Dracona was completely still in shock, it was as if the
life was knocked right out of her flesh. For not only did they fail
to prevent the life of a child but without this child they had sealed
the destruction of a planet.
A strong but small orb of light flew out of the child’s mouth. It slowly transformed into the shape of the body it had once occupied. The little child’s soul was ready for its next journey. Claw in hand with little soul, Intelligence, the godly being Lucifer looked too the sky. His sculpture like form was as golden as the sun. Together the angels took flight in Union grieving for their failed mission.
Passed star nurseries, small planets inhabited by little people, passed flying horses and moving constellations, in through galaxies and out through realms they flew. Spiraling, spinning, crisscrossing, they flew. Only the stars, the fiery white stars that gleamed, as did diamonds, led their way.
Dracona let out a scream as she suddenly began to be tossed by some invisible force around and around till finally she was spat out and came hurdling towards Lucifer, who gently caught her. He started to sense something that was unnerving to him just as the violet mist had been. His eyes automatically began to adapt to see what the energy was that has so forcefully thrown Dracona. A light of blackness was edging towards them. Darker then darkness itself was this strange light was.
“What is it?” Dracona murmured.
The little soul started to drift away from it. Lucifer started to go towards it. The miasma became more intense. Finally he was able to touch it. He could feel it pulling at his fingers as if to lure him. But Lucifer resisted. Then finally enraged the dark light shocked him. He withdrew immediately.
“Lets depart. I do not like this.”
After they could fly no more they reached the gates of heaven. Never did they quite know what the gates of heaven where as they could always go over them.
“What do I tell the master? That we have just brought an end to his fifth planet in creation of the damn universe?”
There was a kind of desperation that Lucifer had never seen in her eyes. Dracona was afraid and knowing her this was probably one of the only chances he would see the disease in her eyes.
“Go and rest. I will take the soul to the Death Dimension and give the news to my father,” his tone was grave.
She thanked him solemnly and drifted off.
“Come child. It is a shame that just as you have been given life it was taken away from you. You would have accomplished a great many of things. But the crude hand of injustice took all that you could have known away from you.”
He did not move his mouth as he spoke, instead they communicated mentally.
“My mother was so beautiful. As soon as I saw her I fell in love with her. Why did she kill me? What did I do wrong?” Intelligence started to cry like the baby that it was.
“Never blame yourself for what your mother did. It was her own mistake too take your life away so cruelly. What she did was wrong and she did it for selfish reason.”
“You are a true friend.”
They had already arrived to the start of the Aurora Borealis. The lights were not as strong as they had been before. They moved in emerald waves and spiral. The little soul and the archangel entered the path to death. It was strange and haunting to be surround by the light. Somehow its brightness was deafening. They floated gently through. Time went slowly; it seemed as if they had been traveling for years. They went passed many angels leading their souls too death’s door. Some of the souls were huge beast whilst others where no bigger then a bee. But all were illuminated with the same white light. Finally the path ended in what was a wormhole. It sucked greedily at the air turning in rapid circles. Intelligence the prismette looked up at him without any eyes, just sensors.
“I’m afraid, I can feel it calling me. I’m scared.”
“Do not fear. Nothing bad will befall you.”
“Won’t you come?” He looked up at him hopefully.
“I can not.”
He began to cry once again which was only whimpering since he had no tears.
“I swear to you that life there will be better then you could ever imagine.” Truthfully he did not know. The soul bravely went forward.
“Good-bye my friend,” said Intelligence.
“Good-bye my friend,” said Lucifer.
And then it was forever gone.
The creator’s voice boomed so loudly that the glass windows shattered to dust.
“ There is something fowl in this universe. I can smell it. How dare it destroy the future of a planet? What could be so wicked as to do this? I made it so that evil would never leak in from any other universe. And what is this dark energy you speak of?”
“If I knew I would tell you father.”
“What makes you assume I am a male? You call me father but I am much more then a man, I am passed that stage.”
“Forgive me.”
“No, it is fine. It is what you have been calling me ever since you were created. You are dismissed and forgive me for my wrath.”
Lucifer questioned his father sometimes. His father seemed to be vain trying to make believe that it was perfect but yet it made many mistakes. Sometimes he wondered if he himself would be better suited for his father’s position. But such thoughts of being creator floated idly in his mind and he did not give them true thought. For now sleep possessed his mind. He went outside and rested his head gently upon the clouds. He dreamt of being his father.
