Eye of a Cyclone

The terror sweeps through the land in howling amidst fear,
Great shadows bend back and forth against attacking wind:
Panic. Stricken. Screams. Tears. Pain. Agony.
The fright itself does not last for more than one day…
But the effect of the attack is devastating, too painful
For words. This beast that is invading, this beast that destroys…
It has terrorized the people with a nightmare than has finally
Come true.

They say the eye of a cyclone is a peaceful deadly silence.
Is there life on earth, or are we just dreaming?
Help them, Lord.

Author's Note/ This was inspired by, as you can all probably guess, the cyclone that hit Burma a few days ago. It was disastrous, more than 40 thousand people have died and many more are still missing. It shocked me how terrible the effect of a cyclone could be. Pray for them. ):
