Life for Rent

Have you got a life for rent?
Anything’s better than mine.
This life of horror, stealing, crime,
It’s become a boring past-time.

Have you got a life for rent?
Maybe you have a passion for thief,
Perhaps it gives you fast relief
And we can trade for free.

Have you got a life for rent?
I’m just a thief, a poor old man
I owe about a thousand grand,
Take pity on this poor, poor man.

Have you got a life for rent?
You look as though you need some spice
To brighten up that boring life
Well, mine’s for free -- do you like?

Have you got a life for rent?
I’m a refugee, I’m running from the law
With a face like yours you’ll slip through the claws
Could you please take mine and I’ll take yours?

Alas, nobody’s got a life for rent
Everyone’s lives are just too spent
This poor little thief, poor old me,
I’ll have to face reality.

Author's Note/ It made me laugh after I saw what I wrote, and I couldn't resist putting it up. The phrase "life for rent" was inspired by my cousin, who put it in his IM screen name.
