Sitting on a lake shore

Staring at you sitting across the water

Thinking of how it used to be

I’m supposed to have a clear head

And become submerged in nature

But al I can think of is you.

And for a moment I forget everything

All that happened

All the reasons I left.

And all I want to do

Is go over to you

And tell you it’s ok

And we should go back

To how we used to be.

But then the memories return

And I realize the truth.
