Why can’t we be together?

Why must you be so far away?

It seems like I’ve been waiting forever

Yet separated we must stay

Even though our paths have crossed

Again and again, time after time

They can’t stay together, they just fall apart

Like a song without rhythm or rhyme

And now there is a barrier between us

Oh, how I wish I could tear it down

Just to be with you again

Would make a gleaming smile of my frown

For no matter the time or deed

My love for you could never grow old

Because just the memories of your lovely face

Means more to me than shining gold

But I will not dwell on the past

And instead look forward to the day

When you and I will be together

And I can hold you close, ‘till struck by the suns fur ray
