As I stand by your grave

I sing a sad song to the sky

Mourning at the loss of one so close

Even as the time goes by

Has it been hours since I lost you?

Months, days, or even years?

I remember the day so vividly

Just remembering brings back the tears

I remember when…

To many memories to count

Some good, some bad

But, now, to nothing ill they amount

I remember all the good times

The laughs, the talks, the fun

The long nights looking at the stars

But they mean nothing in the long run

I remember the bad times

The fights, the screaming, the hurt

The days we went without talking

But now they are worth less than dirt

I remember the sad times

The drying, the depression, the pain

Your head on my shoulder, weeping

But they are no washed away in the rain

I remember all these times

The good, the bad, the sad

They all used to be treasures

But then you took all I had

You left me alone in the world

You stole my love, my heart

Now I am so very empty

Forever now, we will be apart
