Friendship

Friendship

It feels like the whole world

Has turned its back on you

No one cares what happens

All shun whatever you do

You look far and low

For a simple friendly face

Yet, despite all you try,

None are found at this place

You turn to your family

Hoping for protection and love

But they reject you, throw you out

Like the opposite of above

You seek your true love

Knowing she will be there

Yet her face is gone

Her face so fair

You fall to the ground

Weeping all your sorrow

Not wanting to last

Not wanting a tomorrow

But a hand, a presence

You feel love and joy

Your friends are with you

Knowing this is no ploy

Your true love is among them

A smile on her face, a tear on her brow

“We will always love you

Even eternities from now”
