Animal Whisperer: Chosen

Long ago and far away, deep in the other side of the human world, there was a world with wonderful magic. But then, darkness came and a great battle started. The darkness wanted to search for all Five Gifts of Power and rule all over the entire world, including the human world. However, a brave wizard cast a spell to seal the darkness in a magical gate. The spell was so strong he gave up his own life to save everyone. An earthquake struck and the Five Gifts of Power flew up and separated in different directions. The war ended, but the people remembered that day when the Five Gifts of Power were lost, except for one.

No one knew about the battle in the human world, but when the time comes, one will know the only truth.

“Are we there yet?” Lyle McCormak moaned.

“We’re almost there Lyle” Mrs. McCormak answered. Lyle moaned and stared at the window, remembering his best friends in LA. He knew them for just two years. Lyle was 13 years old at the time and friends are important to any teenager. Almost as important as the sports he loved: karate and swimming. Lyle also liked to read about cures and diseases. He thought he would become a doctor one day. The reason why his parents moved to New Jersey is because his father had a new job there.

“Here we are” Mr. McCormak announced. Right in front of him was a gate, it opened slowly for them and they entered to their new house.

“Oh my gosh!” Mrs. McCormak gazed “ The house is so beautiful!”

“It’s really nice but why don’t we have a neighborhood?” asked Lyle.

“ I thought we might have a good view at the city” answered Mr. McCormack “Were going to see it later after we unpack.”

As Lyle was looking around, he suddenly was a man wearing a black suit. Mr. McCormack parked the car in front of the big white house. Lyle went out of the car with his backpack and stepped forward to the man in the black suit.

“Good afternoon master,” the man said. Lyle was wondering why that guy called him master.

“Lyle” Mr.McCormak introduced “this is Ivan, he is your butler.”

“Hi Ivan, my name is Lyle”. Ivan bowed. Instead Lyle shook his hand and bowed at the same time, just to be polite.

“Is their anything I can carry for you?” asked Ivan.

“Oh no” Lyle answered.

“Lyle” Mr. McCormack interrupted “Its his job to do stuff for you.” Lyle looked at Ivan in a caring face. He didn’t want to do it, but he had to listen to his father.

“You mind helping me carry my suit-case?” asked Lyle.

“I’ll carry it myself,” Ivan answered

“But…” Lyle mumbled, but no one heard him.

Would you like me to show you around the house?” asked Ivan.

Um… sure” answered Lyle. As they headed to the door, and earthquake struck all of New Jersey.

“Everyone take cover!” exclaimed Mrs.McCormak.

Lyle slipped and almost banged his head. Ivan covered Lyle so he wouldn’t get injured. But meanwhile there was something else. In the other side of the human world, there was also an earthquake. It was so strong; it made a big crack at the gate.

The shaking stopped in two worlds and it was all quiet.

Back at the McCormaks new house, everyone was safe. Lyle got up and looked at Ivan.

“Are you alright master?” asked Ivan.

“I’m fine,” answered Lyle “you’re hurt! Are you alright?”

Don’t worry about me” replied Ivan “I’m alright, we should unpack your stuff into your new room now, shall we?” Lyle nodded.

However it was all bad for both worlds.

A dark energy of light slipped through the crack of the gate and landed in an explosively way. The smoke disappeared and red eyes glowed. A wolf stepped over, but it was all dark.

“Were finally free my lord!” snarled the wolf. Right behind the wolf was a giant Minotaur, all dark with red eyes.

“Now” the Minotaur said “I shall rule the world!”

After everything was unpacked, Lyle started to take a good look at his room. It was wonderful and it had lots of space.

“Thanks for helping me Ivan” smiled Lyle.

“Its my pleasure helping you” he said.

“Well, look I’m going to go for a walk, how about you stay here and… help my dad out.” Lyle ran out the door.

“Uh… okay”

Lyle quietly went to the door and went through the gate.

What’s up with dad Lyle thought maybe I should ask mom about it. She’s been acting weird when we got here, huh? Lyle turned and looked at the forest. In a far distance, he saw a deer, big antlers almost moose-like.

Lyle went into the forest and went straight to it. As he tried to get past a bush, the deer was gone.

Where did it go? He thought. Lyle went to the same spot where the deer was and looked around, but it nowhere in sight.

Lyle looked at the ground and saw two perfect shaped circles beside each other, but a distance away from each other.

“Fairy circles,” Lyle wondered. He went through between the two circles. He felt something weird. He decided to go back, he turned around but the exit disappeared. And instead of fairy circles, there were two trunks. Lyle looked around, the trees were all crooked and the air was all blue and cold.

“Great!” Lyle exclaimed, “ ten seconds and I’m already lost!”

Lyle waked until he found an exit. Suddenly Lyle froze and heard something. Lyle hoped no one was following him. Lyle turned around very slowly. He saw a wolf, so dark and fierce.

“ You’re the one,” he snarled. Lyle was so scared he ran as fast as he can. The wolf went after Lyle. Lyle was so tired; he fell over and rolled down a hill, hit by branches and trees until he stopped rolling. He passed out and didn’t even move.

Lyle woke up and realized he was sleeping in a king sized bed. Lyle pinched himself if he was dreaming, but he was fine.

“Ah, you’re awake” a voice called to him. “I was worried you will sleep for a long time.”

“Well… thank you for helping me but where are you?” asked Lyle

He laughed, “I’m right here, beside you.” Lyle looked beside him and he saw a white tiger, looking at him. He freaked out and started moving back until he touched the wall. The white tiger jumped on top of the bed. He started looking at Lyle again.

“Do not be afraid, I will not harm you in any way.”

“You can talk? How come I can understand what you’re saying?” The talking tiger sat down and explained everything.

“When you entered the forest, you walked between two circles, and stepped into a dimension, a gate that takes you to this world”

“Why am I here then?” Lyle asked.

“Did you see a deer, deep in the forest?” he mentioned, Lyle nodded. “I sent a deer to wait for someone. That’s how you ended up here.”

“What do you want from me?” asked Lyle.

“Come and I’ll show you” the tiger answered.

“Oh by the way, my name is Lyle” he introduced

“And my name is Logan” he smiled.

Lyle shook Logan’s paw. He followed Logan to a room filled with books, a cauldron, and lots of jars.

“This is my work area” Logan said. “This is where I study and do magic.”

“Wow” Lyle was amazed. Lyle looked around. He felt like he was in a dream, a beautiful place where he can do anything. Logan took a necklace from a box and gave it to Lyle.

“This is for you.” He gently placed it in Lyle’s hand. There was a small staff and he suddenly saw words, He flinched and looked at Logan. Logan closed his eyes and suddenly a symbol appeared on his head.

“The gift that gives the power within, give this power to Lyle with no sin.”

A glowing white, ball appeared in front of Lyle, and slowly went straight to his heart, he didn’t feel a thing.

“I’m giving you one of the Five Gifts of Power” Logan said “This power makes you able to summon animals and mythical creatures. You are also able to communicate with them. The reason why you’re here is because, evil has returned to take over the universe. In the past; a gate has sealed the evil, but there was a crack in the gate, and evil has slipped through.”

“What does this have to do with me?” asked Lyle.

Logan answered “You are a very worthy person, and I want you to help me stop the evil take over the world.”

“Look, I don’t think I’m ready for this. I mean I just can’t do it. Sorry, but all I want to do is just go home.” Lyle went straight to the door and tried to find his way home.

Lyle walked until he found a way home, but there was no way. Lyle sat down a big boulder being helpless. Suddenly, an explosion appeared out of nowhere, right behind Lyle and appeared an army of asuras. The wolf that Lyle saw was also there as well.

“Attack!” he said. The asuras army attacked Lyle, but he was to quick, he fought all ten of them and suddenly the wolf pounced at him. The wolf growled.

“I am Conall, the dire wolf” he said, “Come with me, my master wants to see you”

“I’m never going to come with you!” Lyle exclaimed. Suddenly a flash of lightning hit the ground and appeared the Minotaur.

“So, you must be the one” the Minotaur said.

“Who are you?” asked Lyle. The Minotaur laughed.

“I am Kek,” he answered. I’m the destroyer of your world.”

“That’s a odd name for you” Lyle interrupted “did your mom call you that?”

“Insulting me?” Kek’s eyes glowed dark red “do it Conell!” Suddenly someone or something tackled Conell.

“Logan!” Lyle gasped.

“Are you alright?” he asked. Lyle nodded. “I’ll take care of Conell, you take care of Kek!”

A fight started, Kek pushed Lyle to the ground all of a sudden. He stared at Logan and used heat vision to blow him away.

“Logan!” yelled Lyle, he ran to him. Logan was injured and in pain.

“Did you see the words when you touched your pendant?” he asked. Lyle nodded. “Take out your necklace and say the words, it’s the only way to defeat them. You can do it, I believe in you.”

“Alright” Lyle sighed. He turned around in an encouraging face; he took off his necklace and placed the pendant in the palm of his hand.

“The sun and the moon which resembles light, reveal your form with all you might!” Suddenly the pendant formed into a big staff and gently landed in his hand.

“Prepare yourselves!” he said. He held the staff with his two hands and focused. “I summon the dragon of the skies” Lyle’s forehead glowed and the same symbol like Logan appeared. A dragon landed right in front of Lyle. “Attack with all your might!”

The dragon opened his mouth and it blasted a huge blast of fire. Kek and Conell were screaming their heads off and were damaged badly. Then the dragon disappeared. Conell and Kek fell to the ground but the survived the attack.

“This isn’t over!” Kek growled, “I’ll return!” A flash of lightning, struck them and they disappeared out of thin air. It was over.

Lyle followed Logan to his place. Logan was so impressed.

“That was very well done Lyle” Logan smiled “so, are you going to accept you legacy and help save the world?”

“Yes” he answered “someone should hold them off right?”

“I am going to teach you the ways of magic so you can become stronger” Logan suggested.

“Thanks” Lyle smiled “so you mind showing me the way back home?” Logan Laughed

“Sure”

As they begin to walk Lyle remembered something.

“Logan, when I first came here, I remember Conall said something to me. He said that ‘I was the one.’ What does he mean?”

“You will know in time,” he answered. They both kept walking. But Lyle knew that it was the far beginning of his journey.
