Long before the boys,

Problems,

Issues,

My transformation,

Days when I wept bitter tears,

Hugging my favorite teddy,

Wishing it could smother the pain,

Willing my heart to stop,

Realizing that it wouldn’t,

You wiped the tears,

Healed the hurt,

Gave me the desire to continue,

Granted me purpose,

Steeled me for my next battle,

I let you in,

I let you love me,

You walked through the rain with me,

You took me in Your arms,

Dance with me,

Sculpted me,

When none understood,

None took any interest,

All neglected,

You listened intently,

Whispered advice,

Nudged me in the right trajectory,
