April 31
"'Z,' PIZZA! Hah! I win!"
Myrna screamed her pride to the world, but the only person to hear was Johnny.
The sixteen year old smiled and shook his head.
"That's the fifth game this week, and it's only Monday!"
Myrna chuckled.
"Well, I guess I am just lucky that way."
Johnny rolled his eyes at his friens naivete.
Johnny was a sixteen year old boy, about to be seventeen in a month. He had nice, long brown hair, and amber eyes. He was the kind of boy all the girls wanted to date. But, if a girl ever asked him out, he always turned them down. He said he was waiting for the perfect girl to come. He wanted someone that liked him for him, not for his looks. That was one thing that kept most of the girls away. The other factor that kept the girls from asking the number one question was the fact that they thought him and Myrna were dating. If Myrna or Johnny was ever posed with the question of tjem being boyfriend and girlfriend, they politely shook their heads no and always, always replied that they were just friends. They had been the best of friends since first grade, and that was how it would always stay.
Myrna, however, was sixteen until June. Then, she would be seventeen. Her hair was a brownish- blond, and it was fairly short, almost like a boy's. WShen she was seen beating many boys at sports, most people did not know she was a girl until she actually went up to them. Then, shock was plastered on their faces, and her and Johnny would have something new to laugh at. her thoughts on haveing a boyfriend were just thesame as Johnny's on having a girlfriend. She would wait. That was the way she wanted it, and that was the way it would be.
"So," Johnny asked. "Wanna play again. I'm feeling lucky this time."
He indicated his eyes towards the first billboard they passed on the road, and scanned it thouroghly. Myrna laughed. That was one thing about Johnny. No matter how sad she was, he could always make her laugh.
As Johnny began to smile, and Myrna began to laugh harder, it happened.
However, it was all too fast.
The screech of weels, the crash of metal against metal, the sound of breaking glass and bone, the sight of nothing, but darkness.
