Lost

“My God, oh why have you abandoned me?”

Your invigorating call echoes faint.

Sometimes your love is all that I can see.

But now I fall, for ‘tis your blood I taint.

You hung upon the Cross of Glory.

Tortured and broken, yet right to the end,

You trusted the Father in his story.

You the Incarnate, God and human blend.

I cannot hope to return to Heaven.

I am too gone, the cursed shadow too strong.

But I trust your word, the sacred seven.

And my heart does cry in great bouts of song.

Deep down, I know that you honestly care.

But I am one sinner blood cannot share.
