Chapter One

A Wedding Day to Remember

As I walked down to breakfast, I could hear excited voices. It was the big day! Well it was for Liam and Noelle. They were finally getting married! I walked down the last step of the spiral staircase, I wished was getting married. Either way Robert didn’t seem like the marrying kind of guy.

But every time we were alone, I knew he thought about it. Heck even I thought about it. But I couldn’t marry him, unless I was a vampire.

“Hey Sara!” I heard Elanna’s voice, over the excited laughter. I sighed, I still felt bad for what happened. Even though she wasn’t in a wheelchair, it was my fault that she was almost in one. But I heard Jonel, was going to turn her into a vampire.

“What’s up?” I asked sitting next to her.

“Guess who I saw making out in the library?” she asked grinning widely.

“Um…. let me think Charles and Loralie, Or Jack and Rose? Or Liam a-” I was stopped.

“Not even close! It was…” her voice dropped to a whisper. “Mercedes and Brandon!” I was stunned. I thought she and Brandon were close. But I thought she was hung up on Ethan.

“Sara?” I heard his voice. I never get tired of hearing it. It was Robert!

“Hi Robert” I said trying to control myself from he excitement. He laughed a bit. Robert placed a tray of plain cheerio’s and a cup of coffee on my lap. There was a sunflower on the tray also. My favorite! “ Thank you” I said as I kissed him.

“Your welcome. Now you should eat. We have to get ready for the wedding. Uh… just to let you know if you catch the bouquet I’m not coming to our wedding”.

“Oh darn” I said sarcastically. I ate my breakfast noisily. The almond color room smelled like hair spray. My hair originally was supposed to be in curls. But since I despised curls, they made my hair wavy. All the brides maids wore purple and black Victorian dresses. That were hard t breathe in. Noelle wore a white Victorian wedding dress. The brides maids dresses and the wedding dress looked the same.

They both had the same designs on them. The only thing different was that Noelle’s dress had more etched flowers in them than the other dresses.

It was Friday October 13th. The most unluckiest day of the year. But it was the most special for Noelle and Liam. It was their wedding day. I didn’t mind anymore, that I wasn’t the maid of honor. Robert insisted that if I caught the bouquet he wouldn’t show up to our wedding. I smiled shyly as I waited to walk down the aisle.

I walked down the aisle with Robert. Liam smiled happily. I couldn’t believe I was at Noelle’s wedding! A few minutes later Noelle walked down the aisle. She looked beautiful.

As I smiled I realized I accidentally cut my finger on the thorn of a rose bouquets. Then it happened all too fast. I was thrown against a wall. Then I was thrown onto the floor where roses, a glass rose stood. I ran, running seemed to be the best option right now.

I heard screams for me to come back. But I just ran. I didn’t look back. Because if I did, I knew I would be dead.

Nine ravenous vampires would want my blood. I didn’t want to die. I was able to remain, a normal person in the Patterson house hold. I never tripped at all.

I wished I never pricked my thumb on the thorn. Now I had to live with the fact of I’m not going to be able to come back. If I am allowed to, it would be out of Pity. Not love!
