The 4 Seasons
The 4 Seasons
I Spring
Mother Nature reveals her dainty buds
Unfurls her petals and pointy shoots
A mass of pink, violet and more
A meadow of verdant scattered afar
Heaven’s a cloudless azure sky
The birds all call and sing and play
The animals gamble and frolic all day
A gentle breeze blows to and fro
The air is crisp and crystal clear
‘Tis a time of eternal youth and growth.
II Summer
And heaven’s eye doth shine on Earth
Its golden rays give light to us
The flowers are blooming, a riot of colour
A spectrum of multirainbow hues
Time seems to crawl at inching pace
But Midsummer’s Night flits by in haste
The symphony of summer echoes around
The nights are warm, and full of love
While the full moon shimmers high above
‘Tis a time of lasting friendship and play.
III Autumn
A splash of orange, red and gold
A heap of leaves raked mountain high
The smell of pumpkin and apple pie
Curls round our noses teasingly
The leaves dance round their naked trees
Fluttering, waltzing in the breeze
Fireworks resound in the indigo sky
Trick or treat, or the evil eye
Guy Fawkes smolders in the dying flames
‘Tis a time of warmth, comfort and hope.
IV Winter
Crystal white and intricate shapes
Raining down, the hail of snowflakes
A blanket of snow buries all underground
But the children run forth with shouts of joy
To build their seasonal winter toy
Their snowman, dressed in a woolen gown
Holly and greetings all round the town
Wafting aromas of gingerbread mingled with pine
Colourful presents and Yuletide cheer
‘Tis a time of forgiveness and for family
...
And the dawn has passed, farewell to this year
The last of this chapter, the end is near
4 seasons have passed while leaving behind
Tales of tragedy, serenity, harmony and strife
Immortalized forever in our book of life
And we await the beginning of a fresh new start
The 4 seasons; and the cycle begins again.
