Basically Serious

Yes, this -is- a song! It may read slightly poetically, but its got a tune so it’s a song too. Hope you enjoy it.

***

Basically Serious

SERIOUSLY BASIC.

Look back at your life

and want to be burning.

No one could have forgotten

The blood in the corner of my mouth.

I’m so desperate…

FOR SLEEP.

I don’t know why –

It’s so different.

You can’t say you know me

When I don’t know myself.

I’M IMPLODING

A fragment of this –

I watched my soul

Slip through the acid holes…

I told you I’d sold it

Earlier that day.

Die, and live and run and die and die and die and DIE and DIE and DIE!

I’M IMPLODING

Destroying myself and my –

Discerning hate from fate.

As I watch you from the side

I wither and die…

I choose goodbye.

GOODBYE.
