Heartbeats
Hi people! This is the first story I’m gonna post on here, so please be nice, okay? It’s my baby. (huggles) Anyway, so…guess I should warn you about what’s in it.
WARNING: This story may or may not contain yaoi, twincest, lemons, limes, cross-dressing, and gore. But it most likely does. So, you no likey, you no read. So, yeah. R&R please!!
Prologue
“Damian, can you come here for a minute please?” I stepped into the kitchen, where my mom was sitting at the table. Her eyes were red from crying, and her hands twisted together nervously in her lap. I wiped the paint off my fingers onto my shirt and padded over to her, placing my hands on her shoulders. Taking a deep breath, she looked up at me.
“You want something mom?” She nodded, took another deep breath, and said,
“Damian, we’re going to lose the house.” I was shocked, and angry.
“Mom, I thought you said you paid the bank back last month!” She sighed.
“I know sweetie, but when Zack left, he took all the money with him.” I felt my fingers dig into her thin shoulder until I pushed myself away from her. New tears began to flow, and she started to sob. Instantly guilty, I comforted her. Her latest heartthrob, Zack, had left us recently. It always made me angry that my mother was so trusting with her seedy boyfriends, and that she would completely change her behavior just for a guy. I felt guilty partly because I had kind of scared the guy when he’d hit me once. His broken wrist had taught him never to touch me, and my emo ways kept us from coming in contact much.
“I-I’m sorry, but he just seemed s-so trustworthy! I ne-never thought he’d run out on u-us!” My mother sobbed into my shoulder until the tears dried up, and she was able to act like a parent again.
“Any idea where you want to go this time, Mom?” She nodded vigorously, confident. I was confused. Mom never knew where we were moving until we got there. It was one of those “point to some random spot in California and see where we end up” kind of things. Careful to keep her gaze down, she asked,
“Damian, remember when I told you about your father and brother?”
