New poem. About one of my characters. Note: She's been abused by her dad when she was a little girl.

--

Malevolent Stars

Moonless night

Casts shadows

Darker than itself.

Polluting chaos in

Form of nightmares

Into children's sleep.

The sweet dreams deteriorating

Away to fine dust.

Demons crawling along the walls

Sucking the atmosphere clean.

OooO

She twists and turns

In her sleep,

Fleeing her Father's hand.

Crying tears of blood,

Screaming terrifying screams,

And gasping to catch her breath.

Desperately trying to decimate

The malevolent stars in the sky.

Death Gods hover above her head

With relentless expressions pasted on them.

OooO

They laugh, they chat,

And whisper amongst themselves.

They watch as the demure girl

Scream at the top of her lungs.

They grin, they cackle,

And sneer at her faces.

They snicker at the pink scars

Laying across her arms.

They watch as her soul

Weep inside her mind.

OooO

She, at last, wakes from the dream.

She gasps and sighs and

Clutches her bleeding heart.

She shivers and

Hugs herself.

Several moments pass as she calms herself.

She lies down and breaths in and out.

Back to her terrifying dream...
