Invisible Soldiers

Walking but a different path

the unseen soldiers pass you by

mourning as you mourned before

For once you mourned for them

but time goes on

and thus we forget

That those soldiers still walk beside us neck and neck

for they know not where to go

as they walk through the streets

For all of eternity they walk with us

still trying to protect

but now they know to retire

As they hear the mourning choir

and they finally know where to go

as they head for the stars

to the gates of heaven and beyond.
