I can only be what I am
No more; no less
Than strained imperfection
And tattered delight.
Age will weary flesh,
Tire bone and bring a halt
To childish prancing,
Though it can do little to spirit
Ever youthful if kept.

So let twilight flicker
And glimmer in my eyes
With constant uncertainty.
It cannot bring down
A child of eternal light.
