Dreams

He haunted her

every night

in her most

peaceful hour

how she hated

waking up at

midnight

sweat running down

her face

her breathing fast

and heavy

then one sleepless night

at a bar

she found him

then night after night

when she would

awaken

at midnight

he'd wrap his strong arms

around her

and she'd fall back

to sleep

peacefully

eventually

he no longer haunted

her late at night

but her dreams

were filled

with much more

pleasant images

of her

new

love
