How can something that once shed light

Suddenly darken into the night?

How can someone who once loved me so

Suddenly feel like letting go?

Was it something I did?

Something I didn’t dare?

It seemed I stopped burning his desire

and now he doesn’t care

But he’s always cared -

he never ceased

Yet now it feels like

he doesn’t even want me

I know he’s confused

And anxious of letting go

I know he loves me

But it’s time to go

-

To see new things

To meet others and be “free”

I just hope he’ll come to realize

there’s no one better than me

I just hope he’ll realize

there's only me
