Deaths:Embrace

I hear the sirens calling
they call to me by name...
I feel my body shaking,
I turn to face my shame...

I feel your body beside mine,
still and sleeping.
A soulless slumber...
from which you'll never be waking.

I wonder vaguely "why"?
And then a vague "how"?
How could this happen?
How come? Why now?

I turn to say goodbye,
and touch your pale lips,
oh so sweet,
my last simple kiss.

The metal is cold and biting
against my frozen skin
it will end now
this will never happen again.

The barrel is to my temple
my finger to the trigger.
If I pull it now,
the problem won't get any bigger.

Eyes locked to you
One last glance
I study you calmly
in your sleeping stance.

The door is pushed open
they're here at last
I smile calmly
And hear the fatal blast.
