Epilogue
"Your microwave sucks," Chuck groaned, punching the numbers in again and pressing START. The popcorn inside started turning, but no popping could be heard.
"You just have to be patient," Chandler said, popping a chip in her mouth as she rummaged through the fridge for some soda.
"You need a new one," Chuck muttered, leaning against the counter.
"Dude, what's taking so long?" Tommy asked with an annoyed tone, wandering in.
"Your microwave is shit," Chuck snapped.
"We're such a happy family." Chandler grinned, ruffling Chuck's hair as she closed the fridge and handed Tommy a soda.
"You have the setting wrong," Tommy suddenly said, brushing past Chuck and pressing a button before hitting start. The popcorn almost immediately started popping.
Chuck glared at Chandler. "You didn't know?"
"I never microwave anything," she scoffed. Her phone beeped and she looked at it. A text from David. She smiled to herself, making a mental note to read it after they finished the movie.
"Alright let's go, or I'm going to start watching the movie without you guys," Tommy threatened, disappearing into the other room.
Chandler smiled to herself as Chuck waited for the popcorn to finish. Tommy and him hadn't gotten back together, but within a month they had at least started talking again. They were graduating soon, and Chandler was glad to know that they'd leave high school on a good note. They were back to being a posse of three again; David hung out with Tommy and her at other times.
She had resigned herself to the fact that David and Chuck were never going to get along. It was in their genetics, she was pretty sure.
The microwave beeped and Chuck pumped a fist. "Finally!"
Chandler laughed. "Are you proud?"
"I really am. Blood and sweat went into this bag." He smiled to himself and she rolled her eyes.
Once he cut open the bag, they walked into the living room. Tommy was watching the DVD's menu, sighing. "I think I figured out how the movie ends from this montage."
"Well, we know that girl dies." Chandler pointed at the screen.
Chuck made a face at the gore and sat down next to Tommy while Chandler sat on his other side.
Before he pressed play, Tommy looked at Chuck and then Chandler. "Are you ready to be scared out of your fucking minds?" Tommy asked with a grin.
"It's a good thing your family's at a movie or your siblings would be scarred," Chuck commented.
"For life," Chandler agreed. "Can we start this movie already?"
"Hold onto your fucking panties, alright?" Tommy said with annoyance. "We have to prepare."
Chuck grabbed the remote and hit play. Tommy glared at him. "That was rude."
Chuck smirked and Tommy punched his arm. "Ow!" he yelled, holding his arm as if it hurt ten times harder than it really did.
"Shut the fuck up, you guys," Chandler said harshly, just as the music started to play.
Chandler instinctively grabbed Tommy's arm as soon as the opening murder started, while he laughed at it. Unemotional tool, she thought to herself as she frowned at him.
But halfway through, as she hid her face in Tommy's shirt and Chuck made noises at all the violence, she couldn't help but smile.
Maybe things were different and awkward. Maybe they'd never really recover. Maybe they'd all go their separate ways after high school, and never see each other again.
So yeah, sure, things had definitely changed forever. But in the end, at least Tommy and Chuck could look back on their memories with each other and remember the good instead of the bad. Their last memory of each other would be a happy one, not an angry one.
And their happiness was all Chandler really cared about.
Fin.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: I am going to edit this story so hard when I have time. When I lost the story's outline in the death of my old computer, I tried to recreate it but to be honest, I'm pretty sure I forgot some key points, and smaller, but still relevant, events. Which is also why these recent chapters have been so short. But enough whining, I hope you enjoyed this story anyway. :)
UPCOMING STORIES: I'm of course going to be working on One For Zach and SOL: 2 right now, but when I finish those I plan on writing a hideously cliche love triangle story. ;) I've seen so many great ones on here, and I want to try my hand at writing one. I have the characters all worked out and a couple plot points, but it's still in the works.
