She is the mistress of the light,

She is the mistress of the night,

She is pure and innocent in the light,

She is destruction and havoc in the night,

To many she is life,

To many she is death,

She is the Mistress.

A part Angel,

A part Demon,

Two halves make a whole,

She is the Mistress.

Both mistress of the night,

And the mistress of the light,

She gives immortality to those she thinks loyal,

She is the Mistress.

She can bring joy and happiness,

She can bring sorrow and hate,

She is the Mistress.

Servant of God and the Devil,

Her name known far and wide

She is the Mistress,

CHAPTER ONE

Vampires

What are vampires?

We know that they are elegant creatures. We know they are seductive much more than one could think or count.

We picture them Gentlemen/lords, either from the late night shows and movies. We know of their bloodlust, we know of their god; Satan.

We know of their unholy beings. We know that they are deadly creatures. But what makes them more terrible than any other night creatures?

The Vampire despite its strengths has many weaknesses. It detests garlic and crosses. Eucharist waters and holy water burns its flesh.

It can not cross rivers, oceans, lakes or flowing canals. It can not look at the sun or listen to scripture. Most vampires move only at night.

Their soul nest of repose is a small dark coffin. Even so, the vampire is referred to as an invincible monster. Do any of you know the reason why?

Now, most young people would say especially children who do not know the concept of a vampire would say:

"They can manipulate wolfs and bats" even so that isn't definitive. Others would say: "they don't die unless you drive a steak through their hearts."

That is not quite satisfactory. There are other means of defeat. Another thing is they can make an endless army of allies and slaves by just drinking the blood of others.

Now that is some thing certainly to fear, but it is not quite the same as invincibility.

It is something extremely simpler. They are so powerful.

The vampires are exceedingly powerful. Excellent reflexes and concentration, a sixth sense, physical adeptness, special abilities, endurance blood sucking, transformation an undying nature, etc, ect.

But what is Most Dreadful is that basic violence...Power. They tear through humans just like they were mere rags. Now, the problem is that the vampire realizes it possesses this power.

Not content with simplicity, by their logic they wield power as they were tyrants. Close range fighting equals death. Do any of you readers understand where I am coming from?

Vampires are blood thrusty fiends. That is why they are most dreadful.
