In his footsteps he walked—Toe to toe.

In his Shadow he remained—trapped by power.

In his love he was set free—unconditionally.

In his years he gained wisdom—that which surpassed the Shadow’s.

The Shadow held, forcing him to walk in its footsteps,

A path of perfect fit—one he dare not stray from...

One toe or heel out of place, out of fit and line, would cost him

That which he walked, in that man’s shadow, to protect.

A path that he loathed but walked for her,

For the one who will set him free—unconditionally.
