Reciprocal

People come and people go,
Lost in foreign memory banks.
Everybody's still alone,
Asking for a bit of thanks.

Selfish lovers, lonely losers,
Every drop of rain a tear.
Longing for another's whisper,
Only to be left in fear.

Vicious scorn of maybe-so's,
Eloquent yet stuff of dreams.
Misery, so the story goes,
Eloped with dread and sprouted wings.

Bonded to such wants and wishes,
Answering soul's desperate plea.
Catch me if I fall for you --
Keep me for eternity.

I am in mild shock at having written this so quickly and so half-asleep.
