Hey

Hey! DarkKnightDante here! I'm here to tell you about mine (and Eza's-she's not here right now...) story...which is still unnamed...but it rocks...a girl meets this set of twins, males, named Endev and Xhaedis. They have powers that when they get angry they "phase" AKA they have an electric current around them and they basically destroy everything in their site(s). The girl, named Serena Harper, is a half devil (AKA a demon) and half vampire. Her mother was the vampire, who hunted the devil Archadia; her father was Archadia, the devil that hunted the mistress vampiress named Moonlight Starr.

"This is talking"

/this/ or 'this' is thoughts

(A/N: this is author notes)

Glass glittered beneath a tall, dark-haired boy. His face twisted in a scowl, glaring at what looked like his mirror. "You're such an idiot, Xhaedis! You got us thrown out-" The other - Xhaedis - just crossed his arms and shrugged. He spoke rapidly, cutting him off. "So we got thrown out, what's the big deal?" Endev's bright blue eyes gleamed angrily. "Well, unlike you, Genius, they tossed me through the freakin' window!" Endev yanked a shard out of his side, then threw the blood-stained
glass to the ground. "Besides, I thought we agreed this was important!" Xhae arched an eyebrow. "It was? Oh wait...yeah. Oops." Impatience flared in his twin, who threw his hands up surrenderingly. "Ugh, now you remember? Whatever, I'm leaving." He stalked off down an alley. Xhae just shrugged again and muttered, "Uptight jerk." But then the twins heard a slight CRUNCH of the glass behind them..."oops" they heard a girl's voice...

Ignoring the glass scattered around his feet, Xhaedis quickly turned, startled, but Endev had already left. Xhae swiftly masked his surprise. "Oh, uh...Hey." He smiled shyly and kicked most of the glass away. But one shard caught his eye, and he picked it up. His brother's blood glimmered in his pale hands, but for once that didn't bother him. A dusty steam rose from the shard as it slowly dwindled, growing smaller and smaller at an adagio pace. Xhae's hands started to shake as the faint scent of blood reached him, and he dropped the shard involuntarily, where it shattered on the ground. He felt a drop of nervous sweat roll down his hairline. "W-what the heck was that?" The girl looked around "um...were you just talking to me?" She seemed a little out there sorta...He shook violently, shutting his eyes tight for a few moments. "Yeah...No...Both. I don't know..." The odd shard of glass at his feet had now disappeared in a wisp of red-tinted steam. "So. Um..Hi." He still quivered, though his voice drew attention away from nausea welling up inside himself. Finally he opened his acidic neon green eyes again, blinking several times.

"Uh...okay...I'm Serena, I um...who are you? And do you usally stutter? And you have beautiful eyes...did i just say that out loud?" Serena replied, obivously taken by his straightened his stance. A shy smile crossed his lips. "I'm Xhae. And no. And thanks. And yes, you did." He ran a hand through his black hair, temporarily revealing his right eye, for just a few seconds. Then he let the midnight black bangs fall back down. "So um..." He quickly thought for conversation topics. "Do you live here?" He made a wide movement, gesturing to the entire city. She was just kinda staring at him, "yes. no. YES! I mean yes..." she said blushing, "I'm sorry, I um...hi"

"Really?" He said quietly, not waiting for an answer. "Me too. But uh, I guess you could probably already tell." He waited through her awkward stumbling of words. "Hi." He smiled brightly for just a second. "Why are you blushing?" He spied the street behind them, watching a big black car roll smoothly toward them. A panicky expression crossed his face briefly. "Um..Let's go this way!" He tugged her by the arm around the corner his twin had disappeared behind a little while ago. "Huh? blushing, I don't blush." she said, her blush increasing. "Huh? Wait, where are we going?" ((A/N: OH NO!! SERENA'S BEING KIDNAPPED!!)) He broke into a run, still pulling her along. "Surrre. Uhm. My place?" He said quickly, and led her through a couple more turns. Soon they seemed lost in a complex alley system.

"But..but...but...b-b-b-b-b-but i need to feed my c-c-c-c-cat!!" She said looking down in front of them. He rolled his eyes. "Ugh!" He whirled around to face her, then spoke in a quick and low voice. "Forget. About. The Cat. I have to get out of here. If you want to leave then..." He spun around on the spot, searching the alleyways. "Uhhhhh...Go..go that way." He pointed. "But don't go back." He shook all over for a few minutes as his eyes scanned the buildings. "Umm..Here." He muttered to himself, then dashed directly at a wall. He made it a few feet up the side, then jumped and grabbed the remains of a fire escape. Hanging there, he reached up and banged on a black door with his free hand. "Endev!" He waited a few seconds, then dropped to the ground again. He spun around in a circle for a moment, trying to make sense of what to do. "Crap, crap, crap, crap, crap! Uhmm..." She looked him in the eye seriously, "my apartment is just five blocks THAT way!!" she said pointing the same way he told her to go. "Why don't we go THAT way!! TO MY APARTMENT!! That way, you're away from here or there or whatever and i can feed my cat!" She said thinking aloud for a moment.

"I didn't say we couldn't go that way! I just said we couldn't go back the way we came!" He yelled back at her. It was plainly obvious he was panicking now. He jumped up to the broken fire escape again, slamming his fist against the door several times. "ENDEV!" He shouted, "OPEN THIS DOOR!!" Slaps of brontide were audible in the distance. Once again, Xhae dropped to the ground. "Not here. Oh, perfect! Rain's just what we needed." He grumbled sarcastically. Suddenly, he bolted in the direction he had pointed in before. As he ran past her, she could hear him mumbling repeatedly to himself, "Gotta move. Gotta move. Gotta move." She stood there then thought..."Wait a minute! Hey um...dude, wait! Please!!"

He stopped, but didn't look back. "What now?!" He shouted over his shoulder, glancing around the alley intersection at which he stood. She sighed and caught up to him, "Look, come with me but keep up or well, you'll find out when you see it if you live that long..." she said and started running to the left then she took a right followed by a left, right, left left straight right and then stopped to see if he was still there. "What are you talking about?" He asked immediately, but followed her silently through the maze of directions she took. He stopped right behind her. He stared at the ground, though watched her through peripheral vision. He tried to force a weary smile through. "You sure know how to confuse someone." "I know. My cat isn't a normal cat, it's kinda big." she said, "like tiger breeds with a panther that has a little lion blood in it, but its extremely gentle." She smiled and turned left. Then they were standing about 7-8 miles away from the building they had started at.

"Well..That's uhh. Different." He said, then smiled. "So, how much further? Oh, but I can't stay long. I have to war- tell Endev something." He realized he hadn't mentioned Endev before. "He's my brother. I hope he returns soon.." She turned around and headed for an old brick building. He turned with her, then slowly followed. "So, is this it?" He observed the next street cautiously, staring down its length. His eyes flashed back to her. Bright headlights shone against his pale face in random intervals of time, growing stronger each step they took closer to the curb. Suddenly, he thrust a hand out and caught her by the back of her arm. He pulled her back towards him with surprising strength, but his touch was still gentle. "Car, dear. Watch the roads." He said softly, with a smile.

She rolled her eyes but smiled back, "Thanks, sweetie, but i won't die. I'm kinda the owner a giant big kitty cat." she said. She grabbed his arm and ran into a building. He just laughed, and allowed her to pull him in. "So, this is it, eh?'" He took a quick look around, though stayed still. He masked his nervousness with a laid back smile. He still wasn't sure if a giant cat would like to have someone that probably smelled like a science experiment gone wrong wandering its house. "yep.."she smiled then called "Tempestwind!! Come 'ere sweetheart mommy's got a nice sweet treat for her babygirl!" she looked at him, "Don't be such a worry wort, Tempest won't hurt you, she likes guys...except werewolves." She told him pulling out something that looked like a small dog from her messenger bag.

He just swallowed, watching her pull out the small dog...thing. "Does...Tempest like guys that smell like the atom bomb? Or compound chemicals?" He asked, still staring at her hands. He liked dogs. "I don't know, maybe I should leave." He shuddered slightly. This dog was meant to be a snack? Perfect. This place would smell like the slaughterhouse to him, in just a few minutes. She giggled, "Don't worry Tempest wont hurt you, and she doesn't even chew her food. She swallows it whole, so in the thought that you don't like blood...you wont even be able to smell it. Oh, i can read thoughts."She said with a smile. "Yeah, that makes me feel alot better." He said sarcastically. He was slightly surprised she didn't ask him why the heck anyone would smell like toxins and chemicals, but pushed it away. "Great, now I feel so exposed." He hummed an unrecognizable melody softly, taking a few steps in a circle, just looking around. As soon as his back was to her, his mind snapped back to earlier events, the black vehicle to be specific. He crushed his hand to the side of his head, gasping suddenly as pain pulsed through him. He choked on his next breath. /No, no no no. This can't be happening!/

Serena jerked at his latest thoughts. "Are you okay? What's happening? What do I do?!" she started to freak out dropping the dog ((A/N: oh yummy)). "Tempest! Help! DO SOMETHING!" She yelled to Tempest then began rambling in an unknown language. A big kitty ((A/N: lol)) came of to him and nudged his shoulder then began purring in a melody similar to Simple and Clean ((A/N: lol it was just playing)). "No!" Xhae shouted out loud, and his eyes flashed a pupiless acid green. He growled at Tempest, and his canine teeth seemed oddly sharper than before, larger. His whole body was trembling, but then his eyes reverted, looking normal again. He inhaled a rapid, uneven breath, and his teeth shrunk back too, right in front of them, plain as daylight. His eyes rolled back to the ceiling, eyelids drifting shut at the same instant he swayed backward. A loud thud pronounced his collapse. "Xhae! Cr-ap! Wake up! Wake up, come on, wake up!" Serena yelled into his ear. She began to slap his face gently, "C'mon. Get up. Dude, seriously, wake up!" She sighed "Wake. UP!" She yelled louder and rolled him over.

He was out cold. Unconscious. None of her attempted rousings got through. Xhae's skin was warm, but there was no sign of sweat. His limp body allowed her to roll him over, now with his back to the floor. Upon closer examination, she could see light, shadowy areas beneath his eyes, suggesting that lack of sufficient sleep for one or two days could be added to the list of problems. Problems that could possibly make someone pass out. Problems like going beserk and growling inhumanly at her pet cat. She growled to herself, "I hate my life." she said picking him up off the cold wood floor, "Note to self: When he wakes up, beat the crap outta him." she sighed, "This is weird, I mean, i have a guy in my house. He sees my cat, freaks out, and growls at her. HOW IS THIS FAIR!! Is it because i killed the dog?!" She kept screaming at the ceiling. ((A/N: SOMEBODY has PROBLEMS!!)) And just to add to all of this crap, he was surprisingly somewhat heavy for somebody that thin. And hotter than expected. Like picking up a heater in use. God, he /did/ smell like chemicals. Yet that somehow smelled attractive on him.

A few minutes passed, and then increased heat (yes more) was her only warning of his coming around. Weight decreased as he shakingly supported himself. "You're loud." He complained softly, cold breath gusting gently on her neck. He pushed her away after a few seconds. She blushed, "At least i can stay on my feet? What was up with that? Are you even okay?" She asked. Xhae steadied himself, trembling, against whatever happened to be the closest. "Fine, you win." He paused before continuing to answer another one of her questions. "I can't believe this is happening to me...and now, of all times." He muttered to himself, but didn't mute his voice enough to keep her out of it. "Um...Oh, yeah, fine." He smiled brightly, now the trembling was coming to an end, and he no longer needed something else to support him. Still smiling he said, "Come here." "What's up?" She said coming closer to him, "Are you okay? Seriously?"

"First off, I want to thank you," he started, enveloping her with intense warmth again, with a gentle, shy hug, "...for waking me up so quickly." That lasted for an insufficient two minutes. "Secondly, I'm going to warn you that you're in for a somewhat long story if you still want to know what's going on. That, and I'm not really sure myself." He stepped back, crossing his arms now. "And third, yes I am fine, only my eyes hurt and I feel like I was just hit by a semi truck." She blushed "um...you're welcome. So, I'm ready for your story. I want to know, What are you?"She asked.

He sighed, and leaned against a wall. "Okay..Uhmm..." He slid down to the floor, running a hand through his hair. "As much as I can tell, I am human..." He watched her through the bangs now falling back into his face. He finally continued. "...enfused with one or several chemicals, toxins, whatever you want to call it." He now stared at his hands. "It's my guess that myself and my brother recieved them from my late father. He was like...us. Unstable, as you just found out. The chemicals react to strong emotions, like anger, changing our body to match our feelings. Now, let me talk about my childhood. When Endev and I were...young, maybe seven?" He broke off, shutting his eyes tight, clutching his hands to his head with a hiss of an exhale. "This is harder than I thought." He said, his voice edged with pain. He growled at himself. "Remember, dang it! I know its there..." He was silent for a long moment, then relaxed, eyes fixed on something behind her. He now whispered in a hollow, low tone. "I remember glimpses.. Dad shouting at our mother, his eyes flashing that wicked green color. Mother calming him...When we were seven, men came. They wanted Dad." His eyes were hard, like he was bracing himself. "They shot us. All of us. Endev, in the stomach, he took my shot. It wasn't fatal. Dad wasn't so lucky, neither was Mom." His voice trembled, and he looked down, now trying to avoid her gaze. His breath came in loud pant-like gasps. Sobbing. He broke down after that, his hand blurred as his pressed the cuff of his jacket over his eyes. Still hidden behind his arm, he banged the wall with his other fist. The result was a crack in her wall, and a terribly loud sound. She knelt next to him and put her hand on his shoulder, "it's okay, and dont worry about the crack in the wall, look around and you'll see why..," she said gesturing towards the room with patches of putty covering cracks and holes in the walls, "That's what happens when you train your big kitty how to attack intruders." she said with a small smile, pulling him to his feet.

Xhae was silent throughout her talk about the crack in the wall, trapped between mixed feelings of anger and misery. He let her pull him up, let his arms fall to his sides again. His eyes were fixed on that same spot behind her, though now were burning with intensity. "I'm weak." He spat bitterly, though you would think otherwise according to the contradicting damage to her wall. More like inhumanly strong. He still didn't dare to look at her. "I feel so weak..." His voice was soft this time, more sulky than angry. Surely he wasn't talking about being reduced to tears in front of her? He took a deep breath and continued after a achingly long silence. "I don't remember it very well. Our wounds were so intense...all I can properly recall is that pain, not what actually happened." His eyes were edging tense and angry again. "I didn't know all about this chemical crap until today, just like you. And now they're after us. Just like with 's why I ran earlier. I recognized that car. Then just before I passed out, I felt incredibly angry, because I remembered that car. And the guns...and the screams..." He trailed off, voice darkening and trembling like mad, as if he was in danger of shifting again. He had to be calmed, fast. "Hey want something to eat? I have fish, Chicken, steak," she picked up the little dog Tempest hadnt eaten yet, "Yorkshire Terrier hahaha," she said with a giggle, trying to make a joke, "Or ice cream, hey, strawberry ice cream sounds good right now." she started walking to the back of the broken apartment.

He sighed, taking a deep breath, then followed her. "Yeah..That's fine.." He instinctively reached for her hand, threading his fingers through hers. His quivers of anger were dying, but his skin still burned hot. He was so warm now that she could feel the heat rolling off of him. He quickly dropped her hand again with a frown, realizing that she would probably find that awkward. In a clumsy effort to cover that, he tried to make conversation. "N-now that you've heard all about my wonderful, intriguing, brilliant life, what about you?" She looked at him, "my life is the simple, and annoying, mother was a vampire and she hunted demons, my father was a demon and he hunted vampires, they fell in love and had me...their masters killed them for disobeying them and then the masters fought who would raise me, then a vampire/demon hunter named Dante stepped in and began raising me. I grow up with him learning to hunt vampires, demons, humans, etcerta. So yea. I am currently in a junior in high school, you know, the local city high school...um..my "father," Dante died last year from a fatal wound to the heart from a demonic knife. I think it may have been one of the masters that were fighting over me, or it was his brother Alecxander ((prononced ALEXANDER)) but i'm not too sure. Um...I found Tempest in the seem that crosses the Vampire, Demon, and Human realms. I raised her from when she looked like a normal kitten, to the bobcat-like state she's in. She should grow to be as big as you are tall. I also found out that the masters of my parents still want to use me as a tool to kill the other master of my other parent, you know, mother's master want father's master to die and vice versa. Geez do i hate that." She said as she handed him an ice cream cone, "and this ought to cool you down." she finished her sentence with a wink.

He stared at her for a moment, mouth hanging at the end of her story. "Simple? Annoying?" He asked in disbelief, and accepted the ice cream. "And I though my heritage was insane. Your life makes mine sound like a party at the zoo. Though I have to admit that yours sounds like more fun than hunting down parents' killers and ripping them to shreds." He paused to devour three-fourths of the ice cream, which was now melting abnormally quickly in his hand. His tone dropped a few steps. "Although, that would end up being my brother's adventure...I'd probably get in the way." It was getting annoying how he kept referring to Endev as the better of the two. Serena's dark grey-blue eye twitched. "Please, i think you're pretty cool, and you don't get in the way." She sighed, picking up the Yorkshire Terrier in the living room, "Babygirl!! My beautiful Tempest, come 'ere sweetie!! I swear...TEMPEST!! IF YOU DON'T EAT YOUR DINNER, YOU DON'T GET ANY DESSERT!!" she said to the front of the house. She looked towards Xhae, "Besides, if YOU don't stop blabbing about your brother I'll have to make it so you can't talk AT ALL." She giggled, "Just kidding hun. But seriously, i don't care if your bro is better than you, he probably is an egocentric jerk who think he knows it all. He is your twin right?" she asked. He stared at the ice cream turning to mush inside the cone, then ate the rest of it. "Don't you mean pretty hot?" He said, laughing. Not only had he crafted a pun, he also revealed a glimpse of the occasional arrogant thoughts beneath. Oops.
"Really?" He called her threat, now standing directly before her, with an 'in-your-face' style that probably violated her personal bubble. "And how would you go about doing that, darling?" He challenged, leaning in slightly. His warm breath fanned her face. Yep. Way too close. He hovered there for a second, then smirked and backed off. "Hn." He turned his back. "Actually," he glanced over his shoulder as he unzipped his jacket. "Endev is the most selfless person I know." His voice was soft, despite the insult she had just dished to his brother, and he completed his somewhat-circle in a turn back toward her. His stare was blank, with a hint of surprise. "How did you know? I don't remember telling you we're twins."

Serena sighed, "I saw both of you before your brother went "poof" you know. Do you think i'm blind?! And seriously get OUT of my bubble..."she said...then she got closer, "i dont like it when people invade my bubble...unless i invade THEIR bubble, oh and hun, look out...Tempestis about to pounce on ya." she said with a giggle. He watched her unblinkingly. "Oh yeah, that. He was kinda..." He scratched at his head, shrugging. "Angry. With me." He shrugged the jacket down off his shoulders, then folded it over one arm. With his other hand, he poked her kiddingly in the shoulder. "That doesn't bother me. I don't have a bubble. Unlike Endev, who has an insanely large one. He's too polite for his own good. Speaking of, I still need to talk to him. You want to meet him?" He turned slowly toward Tempest, then crouched and stroked her head. "Smart kitty." He said softly, then his gaze wandered toward the damage to the wall he had inflicted. "I'll pay for that. It's my fault." "Really? Why was he mad at you?"she said while Tempest rubbed against his...um...waist?(A/N: big kitty ) "So if i WANNA scare him i should get into his bubble?" With this thought in her head she smiled evilly, "Yeah, i definitely wanna meet him."
