There was night, there was street,

There was night, there was street,

And a spark in your feet,

And “I’m so tired” you were saying,

Repeating louder, swaying,

And then BURST into SPLIT-ENDS of the soul.

So you danced, jump swing

‘Round lampposts and sing

I’M SO TIRED could have been

As quiet as a nudge, a grin,

And LOVE ME? See,

I couldn’t give a name to the

Thousand and One Nights.

I’ll feel a thousand things,

But nothing like the flight.

I’ll gamble all my sweet control,

Burst into split-ends of the soul.
