Stranded

Suckered in belief

And tied to a promise

It wasn’t even a lie, really.

Rather a delicately pieced together

Fable.

That I swallowed whole;

That I consumed completely;

That I digested fully.

A tale of what will be,

What may be, what

Could’ve been;

If only I had been a little keener.

If only you had been a little clearer,

But, the fault, on me, not you.

And still stranded I stand—

On the deserted island,

The one with endless blue aqua,

Tan shores that stretch,

Sweet breezes hat envelope.

But, where are you?
