I blinked my eyes open to find myself yet again in the same room. I awoke yet again to hear a loud knocking on my door, followed by a shout, “Wake up!” I quickly jumped out of bed, slipped some pants on since I already had underwear, bra and a white t-shirt on. I opened the door to find a gun pointing at me and a hand reaches out and grabs my arm tightly, pushing me down the hall. I walk with my head down; if I were to lift my head up they would take it as a challenge and so I was punished for it. I soon arrived at the elevator and it only took a few moments to get in, stay still as it rose up then walk out the elevator and on to the top floor. Of course, the top floor of the building was ground level; the rest of the building was under ground.
I blinked my eyes, waiting for them to adjust to the sunlight as the man with the gun shoved me outside. I went to join the other people here; teens, children, adults, elderly; humans of all ages were here. This institution, more like a jail, was for the ‘gifted’. Of course, I knew I was gifted, but what I was capable of, I did not know.
Unfortunately, it seemed like everyone here knew I was different from them all; no one ever spoke to me except to order me around, the other ‘gifted’ people would only stare at me, but never made eye contact with me. I would sit near them they would quickly walk or even run away from me. And so, I became used to it, and when I was shoved outside to get some fresh air, I went all the way to the far end of the fenced in area. There was a flood drain back there, and I would sit by it and talk to myself. If I spoke loud enough my voice would echo back to me and that was my ‘social’ time, until that one, wonderful day. I was sitting alone, talking to the drain, when a soft growl answered me instead of my echo. I picked up a small rock off the ground and dropped it in, and a whimper answered it. I whispered ‘sorry’ to the creature and leaned over the drain to see what it was. The creature moved into the light for me to see, and there I was, staring into a drain at a wolf. Not just any wolf, but a beautiful grey wolf. I asked her where she came from, and of course she could not answer. If I asked yes or no questions, she would answer; this made me glad. It took a few minutes of conversation for me to think about asking if she was indeed a she; a head shake told me no. I apologized, explaining that his fur was so beautiful I thought he was a she, and he tilted his head as if forgiving me.
Today, I was going right back to the drain to see him. I called into the drain with a low growling sound; somehow I was able to do that. Soon enough he emerged from the darkness and whimpered to me. I was curious, what could he be trying to tell me. Suddenly he disappeared back into the darkness. “Wait, where are you going? I want to talk-” and before I realized it he had jumped up with such speed it broke the bars over the drain and he was right on top of me. “How did you-”
“It is time, princess.” He suddenly said to me and I could do nothing but stare at him open eyed. Of course, soldiers came forward immediately and began shooting at him, but he was able to dodge every bullet. He attacked the soldiers faster than my eyes could follow and was soon tugging on my shirt to follow him.
“What are you talking about? What is going on? How did you talk? Why did you-”
“Princess, please, just follow for now. I swear I will answer all of your questions later.” He said, and I watched in horror as the wolf body began to transform to a human body. He grabbed one of the dead soldier bodies and pulled the black pants off, and pulled them on himself.
Before I could protest, he grabbed my waist and swung me over his shoulder and began running faster than I could have ever thought possible. I looked around to find all the other ‘gifted’ people running away screaming and some soldiers were shooting at us. He knocked down the chain fence by kicking and he placed me gently on the passenger’s side of a black truck. I remained motionless, unsure of what to do and unsure of what was going on. I didn’t realize it at first but my breathing was quicker; I was close to having a panic attack. I was glad I was leaving this horrible place but what was going on?
“Hold on.” He suddenly said as he started the engine and floored it. It took me a few seconds to realize I was strapped in. I looked around to find we were miles away from the institution and were now traveling on a road with a mountain on one side and a drop on the right side. I turned around to find two army trucks following us; bullets were flying at us nonstop. Pain suddenly came from my shoulder and naturally I screamed, grasped my shoulder and bent over. “We have to get away from them-” he said, and kicked his door open suddenly. I had to rely on my hearing to know what was going on; the pain in my shoulder kept my eyes closed. I felt his hands reach around me and pull me out of the truck. I was now able to open my eyes from the shock of being jerked out of the vehicle and found that the truck had flown off the side of the mountain and we were now free falling into a forest.
I had closed my eyes when we hit the ground, and shakily I slowly opened my eyes to find he had pulled me onto him so that I would not take the worst hit. He was unconscious; and I did the only thing I could think of; I pressed my hand against my wound, even though it hurt like hell, and more blood came out. I cupped most of it into my hand and rubbed it all over his lips, knowing it would go into his mouth. I crawled off of him slowly and felt around for any wounds. I turned his body over a little to find scratches on his back. I rubbed my blood over his wounds, and miraculously they healed instantly.
It took about two minutes for a gasp to come from him and he sat up quickly and looked over at me. I smiled weakly and spoke, “You kidnapped me because of what I am, right?”
He nodded sadly, “I’m sorry if it was not what you wanted. We need you desperately. The Vampire Queen is taking over most of the land, killing people nonstop and has wiped out nearly half our population. The Changers might take her side as well-”
I looked down, “I know.” He looked at me questioningly so I explained, “I remember what I am. My father did not hesitate telling me. I, destined Werewolf Princess, was the daughter of a Vampire and a Werewolf.”
He nodded, “Yes, the prophecy said that much.” He looked up, “We must go.” I nodded and stood up, but blood rushed to my head and everything went black.
Zaman
I carried her unconscious body all the way to our hide out; silence greeted my return; Werewolves all around me, staring silently. Vincent, the leader in our pack, smirked. “Zaman, you found her after all?”
“Yes.” I bowed my head and placed her body on a stretcher. Two solder Werewolves brought her to another room, where she would recover.
“You have done well.” He placed his hand on my shoulder then looked at me strangely. “You have fed?”
I shook my head, “We fell off a cliff, and I was close to death. She used her own blood to bring me back to consciousness-”
“She knows?” I nodded in response to his question. “Well, this will be a lot easier than I expected.” He began walking towards the room where she was.
“Sir?”
“Hm?” he stopped and looked over his shoulder.
I hesitated before asking, “May I guard her tonight?”
He turned towards me, eyed me suspiciously then slowly answered, “Yes.”
AN: For new readers to know, this is not the Werewolves and Vampires like in my other stories. These werewolves turn into actual wolves, therefore the Mirus Virus is not connected to this story. This story was written from one of my dreams, so it might not even make sense sometimes, but I will do my best to make it work into a good story. :) Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy it!
