Happiness

Happiness

Our porcelain doll

Points to her dolls house,

Perched precariously on the horizon

And invites us for

Cream tea and adventures.

Our memory-maker

Carries a curious net,

Fashioned for seizing moments and

Saving special smiles

For recipes of reproduction.

Our storyteller

Has chocolate constellations

Sitting in her eyes and

Warm revelations

On her sleepy lips and

Our hazy poet

Tries to dissolve into the sky

Dyed pink by leaking memories,

Our memories

As we run together,

The four of us,

Streaming down through nightfall

Purple, green, blue, red,

Weavers of time,

Teaching each other to breathe

With a curtsey, a bow, an embrace, a kiss

Until we seep into the earth

And rest with the children.

This is a poem inspired by time I spent with 3 close friends.

Each of the first four verses is meant to represent one of us. See them as you will, but for those interested each verse was inspired by:

First verse is a friend with pale skin, perfect face),

2nd verse is a friend who loves photorgraphy and always has her camera

3rd verse is a friend who has awesome eyes and imagination

and the 4th is me, a poet...

I hope you like it !
