“That was one hell of a kiss!” Elsa exclaimed over the phone as she looked at her paper.

“I know, but it meant nothing… right?” Annie asked, curled up in her bed. After they got back she had gone straight to her room and fell asleep. She was woken when Elsa called her, demanding to know about the kiss.

“I don’t know, it looks pretty real to me.” There was the sound of rustling paper as she flipped back to the picture of the kiss.

“The only reason we even kissed in the first place was because my mother told us to! She wanted us to convince the press that we were happy together and not about to rip each other’s throats out!” Annie exclaimed, throwing her free arm into the air despite the fact that Elsa obviously couldn’t see her.

“Well you convinced me, that’s for sure,” Elsa said on the other line she could hear Annie let out a frustrated groan. Reading the caption beneath the picture, she read on,

“It says here that it was pretty heavy and hinted that things would go further when you two got home.” There was Elsa’s laughter coming from one line and then Annie’s screams of profanities, cursing stupid reporters, on the other line.

“If you want to read more you’re paper should be there by now,” Elsa said after both of the girls had quieted down enough for one of them to be heard over the other. Annie looked over at her clock at this and said a quick goodbye before jumping off her bed and rushing over to her door, throwing it open only to jump back and let out a scream.

“Uh, you okay? I heard you swearing a lot and I just wanted to make sure you weren’t going to jump off the balcony,” Ryan said, looking down at Annie with a raised eyebrow. Upon seeing him, the last guy Annie even wanted to think about thinking of, Annie let out a scream, pushed him out of the way and then went bounding down the halls towards the front door. The cold marble flooring ached her feet with every hurried step she took, but that didn’t stop Annie because she was determined to get that paper. Well, that, and the fact that Ryan was chasing after her demanding to know why the hell she has just screamed at him before pushing him.

“What the hell is your problem Gilrick?” Ryan asked harshly, calling Annie by her last name in his frustration. Said girl ignored him and finally got the paper from a maid and had only a second to look at the picture before the paper was snatched from her hands by the last guy she wanted to see it.

“Wow, that sure was a convincing kiss,” Ryan drawled out, looking at the picture with both of his eyebrows raised. “I didn’t know you had it in you Annie. I think now I’m gonna start calling you ‘vixen’. You like it because I think it fits you well,” he then teased and Annie let out a frustrated scream before punching him in the arm, taking back the paper, and running down the halls as fast as her skinny legs could take her.

“Aw come on vixen, I was just kidding! Can’t you take a joke?” Ryan asked running after Annie for reasons unknown to her.

“Seriously, why is he even bothering running after me? It’s not like he gives a care about if I’m upset because of the picture,” Annie thought, looking back at Ryan briefly before letting out a huff of air and continuing her run. Eventually she came to her room and quickly ran inside, locking the door behind her even quicker and then running to her bed where she, rather childishly, hid under her fluffy comforters. Ryan knocked on her doors for a few minutes, continuously asking what was wrong but eventually he gave up and left for his own room. It was another five minutes until Annie finally came out of her ‘hiding place’ and took a good look at the paper.

‘People in love’ was how one by stander had described the kiss to the reports after they had left. Annie had to admit that they did look like a rather in love couple but that still didn’t mean she was okay with any of this; especially the part of having to eventually marry Ryan.

“Why me?” she thought before falling backwards onto her bed with yet another groan. This certainly wasn’t a good way for her to start off her morning and Annie had a feeling the rest of the day wouldn’t be too much better.

“Annie, honey, Ryan said you had the paper so I came by to get it,” Julie said through the door after knocking softly.

“You wanna read what they said about the kiss too?!” Annie snapped back, not even caring if she was being irrational. She was pissed due to a lack of food, frustration, not that great of a night’s sleep and, to make matters just that much better, she had a feeling she was going to start her period soon which meant cramps and all those other wonderful things to deal with on top of having to deal with Ryan.

“Actually no, I was hoping to read about the weather,” Julie said and Annie let out a soft ‘oh’, feeling slightly guilty for snapping at her mother even though she had done nothing wrong. Picking up the paper from where she left it, Annie went to the door and after making sure she was presentable, opened it to get her mom the paper.

“Are you alright Annie?” Julie asked softly, studying her daughter closely and knowing that something was bothering her greatly.

“Just leave me alone,” Annie mumbled, moving to close her door but her mother held it open.

“Honey, I know you don’t want to hear this, but maybe what the reporters are saying is right. You guys look adorable together and I think you need to give Ryan a chance,” she pointed out which only ticked off Annie more.

“I hate him! and I will never love him!” she screamed, tears now slowly sliding down her tan cheeks as her mother could only watch with a hurting heart for her troubled daughter.

“You hear me?! I hate him!” Annie yelled before shoving past Julie and running down the halls in some random direction. On the way down the halls Annie ran past Ryan who looked at her curiously before running after her, calling her name in question as he did. Annie soon ran outside and was forced to stop her running because of the small detail of her not being able to breathe. Right as she was about to begin running again Ryan came up from behind her and wrapped his arms around her so that she couldn’t get away.

“Let me go!” Annie demanded as she trashed her legs around while her arms were trapped in his powerful hold.

“Just tell me what’s wrong,” Ryan said, his hold on her never dying down but also never tightening so he would hurt her.

“Everything! Everything is wrong!” Annie finally admitted and then there was silence before Ryan asked softly,

“Why?” Annie scoffed at this and rolled her eyes as if it were the most obvious thing ever.

“Let me think here, maybe because I’m being forced to marry you. Oh but let us not forget the small detail of me hating you,” she sneered before shoving the heel of her foot down on Ryan’s toes so that he dropped her and she could be free from his grasp. While Ryan was busy swearing like there was no tomorrow and trying to balance on one foot, Annie stood off the side and looked at him with a smug smirk and her arms crossed.

“What the hell was that for?!” Ryan yelled, now directing his anger towards Annie.

“For not letting go,” she almost yelled as well, but managed to hold back some of her anger. Ryan took a challenging step forward and Annie replied by taking her own step forward until they were almost toe to toe.

“Really because I thought you would have been enjoying me touching you since you just loved kissing me last night,” Ryan countered and Annie’s eyes narrowed to match his own glare.

“Oh so it was I that loved the kiss? Because I’m pretty sure you just couldn’t keep your hands off me! Oh and let us not forget your wandering tongue!” she yelled, taking another step forward so that now she could feel Ryan’s breath fan over her face in refreshing mint waves.

“So it was only my wandering tongue? Please, you were about to jump my bones!” he exclaimed and Annie was silent, just glaring at him. “Just admit it, you wanted to kiss me. In fact, you were looking forward to that kiss all night,” Ryan added, his voice much calmer than it had been just moments before.

“Fine, I was looking forward to the kiss to show that I could play dirty, but that doesn’t mean you didn’t enjoy it. You were practically undressing me with your eyes all night.” Now it was Ryan’s turn to be silent and after he spoke Annie let out a gasp.

“After visually undressing you, me and my eyes have agreed you look really hot naked.” The look on Annie’s face almost made him laugh, but Ryan bit back the laughter for he knew it would ruin the moment and his chances of getting to feel Annie’s soft lips pressed against his own once again.

Recollecting her composure, Annie stood up straight and let her face fall into that of an emotionless one before looking Ryan square in the eye. “Well you best be hoping you don’t forget that thought any time soon because it’s the closest you’ll ever get to seeing me naked,” she said before walking past him and back into the mansion. Ryan stood still for a moment before silently cursing and heading back inside as well. He had been so sure that she would give in to the sexual tension practically suffocating them, but it seemed Ryan was wrong.

“There’s more to this girl then she lets on,” he thought before a small smile spread to his lips. Ryan would be looking forward to finding out more about his ‘bride to be’.

Ahh! Please don’t kill me! I know it’s been like three months since my last update but I have a story posted that I haven’t updated in like 5 months so it could be worse. All the same, I won’t let this happen again the hopefully the updates will be sooner now. I actually have an idea going for this story and it’s not based like at all on what I originally wrote down for this story in my notebooks so now that it’s out of my own head (well fresher I guess you could call it) writing the chapters should be easier.
